I had a payment plan agreement with Mrs. [redacted]. When my debit card expired and I got a new one, I called to update my account information. Her staff took my payment information. Two months later I got a notification that my account was being placed in collections. I called and was told it was for non-payment. After calling the bank I was told they charged the old card and the transaction didn't go through. I did not receive any calls or emails stating that the transaction failed. I provided proof through my call log and bank transactions for the month I updated payment information showing transaction processed. Through neglect from her staff to update the account and her unwillingness to keep the agreement she sent my account to collections. I have paid close to $40k to this lawyer and even though we had an agreement, she sent me to collections. This is unacceptable business practice!!!Product_Or_Service: Legal servicesAccount_Number: [redacted]/////Desired SettlementMrs. [redacted] should have to abide by the payment plan she accepted and remove my account from collections and effecting my credit. /////Business Response This accusation is completely false. The client failed to pay her bill. She then agreed to pay at $50.00 per month, which we agreed to do despite the fact that the total was owed pursuant to the contract. She failed to abide by her payment plan, was extremely volatile with office staff. Despite her placement of false and harmful information on the internet we have attempted to continue to work with her. Consumer Response Mrs [redacted] has honored the payment agreement as she stated however she added interest which was not agreed. I asked for copy of where she says I agreed to interest and she said she would send a copy and never did. It pretty sad that if I hadn't have made this report that she would've kept my account in collections. Here is her email trail. On Sep 28, 2015, at 9:52 PM, [redacted]-familylaw.com wrote:Miss. [redacted] is happy to send you a copy of your contract tomorrow. I understand that you like to file complaints and that is certainly your privilege to do with your time. I will respond accordingly with my information. Again I want to reaffirm that the payment plan is your responsibility and you must ensure payment on the first. If you see a charge has not been made for payment please contact our office immediately. We require you to contact us. Thank you.
