We wanted the newer cable boxes from [redacted] so we can record more than two shows at a time. [redacted] rep tells us an installer needs to come hook up the boxes and makes sure they work and it will be a quick easy thing. These Medley Communications people show up (I think the guys name was [redacted]). The refuse too hookup the boxes until they inspect the wiring. Then they tell us there is a problem with the wiring and they need to replace most of it. We argue with them because [redacted] was just here 9 months ago and replaced half the wiring. The installer that is here insists it must be done and not to worry because it won't take long and [redacted] will pay for it. We verify with him a second time that none of this will cost us anything. The installer is here for 5-6 hours and damages one wall in two places and one piece of furniture. Still not able to figure it out he calls in another tech or supervisor. After they arrive it takes them another hour to finish up. They made a huge mess, but at this point we just want them out of our house. Ruined all our plans for the day.
A week goes by and we get our bill from [redacted]. The normal cable bill amount plus around $400 on top of that for installation charges. We inform them the installer told us there would be no charge. After arguing with a supervisor they reversed about half of that, but said the remaining $175 we would have to pay because it was a cost from the contracted installers couldn't reverse. They would not tell us the name of the company. We never saw or signed any paperwork agreeing to the install or any charges or that the work was completed to our satisfaction. The installer flat out lied to us! I said I wanted to file an formal complaint against the installer for lying to us and the damage to the walls and furniture. They said there was nothing they could do about them lying to us "if they did", but could file a complaint about the damages and someone would get back to us.
A few days later a "manager" from Medley contacted us and wants to come talk about the issues and inspect the damage. The manager [redacted] comes out. I inform him the tech lied to us and informed us there would be no charges. I show him the damage. He said the damage should be easy to repair and normally they could send a repair person or reimburse us. He said he would need to go back and talk to the tech about the situation and he'd contact us again in a few days with the resolution. Two weeks later we get a letter saying after reviewing all the information they found their employee was not involved in the damage to our property. Big surprise the installer lied some more!!! The letter doesn't even address the fact the installer is a liar and the other fees we should have had to pay. I try to call the "manager", but he is out of town and will have to get back with us in a week or two when he returns. Two weeks go by and no call. I call a few more times... yeah you guessed he is busy or not there or whatever and will call back. It's been 2 months since we got that letter and nothing.
