Review: This person was a family friend and I thought I could trust him. I did not sign a contract because he never told me to sign anything and I gave [redacted] $7200, of my hard earned money and he was going to redo my kitchen. He gutted the kitchen and that was all he did and his workers did such a bad job they didn't put up any coverings to stop the dust from going to the rest of the house. He kept telling me that the cabinets were ordered and it would take time, but when I went for my cabinets I was told they were stocked cabinets he had selected, which by the way were cheap cabinets. He kept delaying starting the remodeling, because he had to keep ordering materials and it would take weeks. It was always something and it was never his fault as to why it was taking so long. I admit I did not know anything about remodeling and I trusted him because he was a friend of the family. He never had any intentions of doing my kitchen and he took my money. He never completed my kitchen but did keep my money of $7200.Desired Settlement: I would like my money back for the job he did not due and I had to hire someone else to finish.

First of all let me start with we did sign a contract. The day she sign it she also put on it the down payment she stated the she could not copy it so she would geta copy to me. I've done other work with her for less money and we always had a contract. We protected her kitchen with a vapor barrier at all times. I have 3 workers that can verify this. My respose to her saying that all I did was gut the kitchen is we had to demo the walls , ceiling and floor which took me and my men 3weeks. The walls had plaster, metal lath, drywall. insulation, and geramic tile. The floor had 4 layers. As far as the cabinets she choose them after personnally going with me to menards to pick thgem out. You can verify with the sales rep from menards. My labor and cost which included the cabinets exceeded the monies she paid me but because she was a family friend I let it go. If she contiues with this I WILL TAKE LEGAL ACTION. We also did other things for her like disconnected her appliances empty her refrideator, stove and relocate and reconnect. There are other circumstances that also came into play. As far as the delays that is her biggest lie. I tried reaching her numerous times which I can prove with phone records.
