Mr [redacted] , charged $2,to his American Express on 3/6/for a non-refundable registration fee to secure enrollment in our six week social educational program to overcome drugs and alcohol for his son [redacted] [redacted] was scheduled to enter our program on 3/16/2016.Mr [redacted] s son, ***, contacted us on or about 3/6/to inquire about our six week social education programAfter several discussions with our reservation as,...date, Mr [redacted] chose to make the initial $2,non-refundable registration fee for us to hold and reserve [redacted] a bedThe remaining balance was due upon arrivalUpon making the reservation they were fully informed of the non refundable registration fee as it is discussed thoroughly prior to any reservation being made, and it isalso posted on our website [redacted] As a matter of policy, we are up front and clear about our price from the start and both Mr [redacted] and his son [redacted] were fully aware of the total cost of our program prior to making the initial deposit for the registration feeWenever made any indication to Mr [redacted] that detox is part of our programOur website clearly states we are not a detox facility and do not provide any medical servicesAnd in no way do we advertise ourselves as providing such servicesTo further support that Mr [redacted] and [redacted] knew this, [redacted] had informed us that he was going to a local detox facility prior to arriving to our facility on 3/16/In the days that followed we attempted to make contact with both Mr [redacted] and [redacted] to keep updated on***'s progress at the detoxAlthough we left several messages for both Mr [redacted] and ***, our calls were not returned.When [redacted] did not show up on his scheduled date of arrival we made more attempts to contact ***and his father to learn of their intentionsAgain they did not return our calls nor did they make any attempt to contact us by phone, email or letterWe never received any formal request for a refund and received no contact from them in any way until we were notified from AMEX on April 4th that Mr[redacted] was disputing the chargeThis is several days after his son's arrival date of 3/16/2016.' We submitted all our documentation pertaining to the situation to AMEX upon receiving the dispute notice and after reviewing the details of the situation, AMEX ruled in our favor and thus informed Mr [redacted] that the charge was indeed a valid charge and he was not entitled to a refundIn an effort to resolve the situation with Mr [redacted] , I am offering two options to himThe first option is that we will honor the registration fee and allow his son to schedule another date to enroll in our program at anytime for up to months following the date of this responseThe second option is that Mr [redacted] s son, ***, may enroll in our remote online program for no additional costIf Mr [redacted] would like to move forward with either of these options, he may call our guest services department and they will happy to assist him accordinglyThank you.Baldwin Research
