Complaint[redacted] Communications was contracted to provide alarm monitoring services for us in 2010. We paid an initial $1140 for installation at which point they programmed our alarm system. The first occasion that our alarm was set off, no one responded. [redacted] called the phone number provided us and they blew it off as possibly a bird or something since the installation had been fairly recent. The next time the alarm rang out, in September 2013, we weren't home, the Sheriffs Office did respond, but only a few days later when the alarm was setoff yet again and there was no response from anyone and we were both home at the time, did we investigate the second event further and come to the realization that someone other than Ball Communications had tipped the Sheriffs Office that our alarm had been triggered on that 2nd occasion. I called Ball Communications and someone came out and tried several scenarios of what might've happened, that they never saw on their side that our alarm had ever went off. Finally, it was explained that there was a 1-800 number of some sort programmed in our system and that he would change it to the local number and it should then work. Meanwhile, I had already spoken with another alarm company and had no intention of retaining this service, as there possibly never was any service. After completing his input of the local number and testing its operation, the service man, I believe might be a son of Mr. [redacted], left. Following that we contracted with another alarm service and I called to cancel our service with Ball Communications. During this phone conversation, Mr. [redacted] stated that he would refund us one year of service charges, because if I understood him right, the number programmed into our system was a number they were using when we'd initially retained service and they were at that point "farming out" the monitoring portion of the service. So, when they stopped the farming out of the monitoring, and took it back over, our service basically ceased and we just had a noise maker.Product_Or_Service: Alarm Monitoring Desired SettlementThe refund of one year of alarm monitoring service that was initially promised by [redacted] DBA Ball Communications in October of 2013. I'd also like for this complaint to be made available to others that contract with him for this service, because I do not believe we were the only ones this occurred to, or possibly have this problem now and are unaware even still. When I last spoke to him about the refund, he simply stated they didn't have the money and couldn't tell me when to expect it.
