Ball's Plumbing

Review: My kitchen faucet was leaking, and I had a home warranty from American Home Shield. American Home Shield set me up with Ball's Plumbing. Day's before arriving at my house, I spoke to Ball's Plumbing over the phone in detail about my problem. I stated that I believe I needed a new faucet. Then the technicians arrive a few days later and after looking at my faucet for a minute say that I need a new one. Then they say that the home warranty likely will not cover it. They then call the warranty company and verify that the faucet is not covered. Why didn't the plumbers tell me that it likely isn't covered over the phone? Because if they did that they would not get to get paid by the home warranty for diagnosing the problem and then also get paid by me for the actual repair. I have a bill for a $75 service fee from the Home Warranty, which is used to pay the plumbers their services; but if they go out for something that is not covered they still get paid just for showing up. The plumbers wanted to charge me $150 to install a new faucet on top of the $75 service fee I would have to pay for the warranty. I offered to pay $150 total, which is all I would pay if I contacted them directly without the warranty. They would not accept. I ended up paying someone $50 to install a new one, but I still have this $75 bill from the warranty company. Bottom line: the plumber gets to bill the home warranty company for something that they knew they could just show up for a few minutes and get paid from the home warranty for something that is not covered. The plumbers are greedy and tried to sneakily double bill. This is bad business.Desired Settlement: I do not believe that American Home Shield should have to pay Ball's Plumbing for showing up to my house and doing nothing. I am not sure if Ball's Plumbing received payment from American Home Shield for my case yet. I believe my $75 bill from American Home Shield be thrown out.

Tech said he cleared the tub drain. Did not. Still standing in water at end of shower. Not the first review that says this company is incompetent. Tech didn't even open the drain clean out next to the tub.
