Good morning, I have read the complaint from [redacted] regarding her [redacted] motorhomeVehicle was brought to us for a New York State InspectionIt required repairs on front sway bar (bushings missing) and left rear tail light inoperable(light housing rusted non- repairable) We repaired both items to pass the NY state inspectionWe also tested the battery & starter as the engine would crank over slowly(Battery would not pass a load test - it was replaced) A few days after the motorhome was dropped off, Ms [redacted] called and asked to have the shore power cord repaired, as she drove away while it was still connected to the power outlet at her houseUpon inspecting the power cord, we found that the cord was not in the motorhome and the transfer switch that it attaches to was torn away from the vehicles interior compartmentIn order to attach a power cable to the motorhome, a new transfer switch would have to be installed in order to make the electrical system work again on the motorhomeThis was explained to Ms [redacted] and she agreed to have the repairs completedIt should be noted that this motorhome ( [redacted] ) is no longer in businessThe parts I ordered for the repairs came from internet orders through Amazon and similar sources who could still locate the original partsThis process does take up to days for us to receive the parts, thus explaining the frustration of the job taking weeksWhen the transfer switch was received we installed it in the original locationThe new switch has a "breakaway" cord which is only a few inches long which allows the cord to separate from the box in the event that the vehicle is driven away with the cord attached to a power sourceI attempted to explain this to Ms [redacted] and she was not receptiveIf she wanted a longer power cord, the old one would have to be repaired or a new cord made up to match the receptacles currently on the motorhomeShe stated that she was not paying any more to have the cord repaired, so I offered her a standard extension cord to use temporarily while she was camping so a least the lights & refrigerator would functionI realize that she does not understand the reason that she cannot just plug in a cord to a non existent receptacleMy final offer to resolve the problem was for me to repair her old cord to attach to the new transfer switch (I would only charge her for the part not the labor) or have a new cord fabricated that she would be responsible for the costShe rejected my offer and leftI have not heard from her except for this Revdex.com complaintIf you have any further questions concerning this complaint, please call [redacted] or email Sincerely, Michael [redacted]
