I found them to be deceptive and unethicalNo follow through on promisesA very negative experience dealing with them

I would not recommend this company to anyone who is looking to restore, repair, or purchase an antique or classic automobileThere is very poor communication between the owner, mechanics, and the customerFrom May to January they replaced their lead mechanic three times which was extremely frustrating as a customer seeing someone new working on vehicles every time I would visitBaltria outsources a lot of their restoration (sheet metal, paint, sandblasting) work to other companies, and did not provide itemized invoices for the quotes from these other companies, only final billsIt made me question Baltria's integrity and business ethics, so I chose to take my business elsewhere

Bought a car that proved unsafe to drive and got no satisfactory resolution to the many undisclosed mechanical and structural problems

Purchased 76 [redacted], I was told it was in great condition. That it had no rust. When I received car the battery was dead, radiator leaking, and it has rust around rear window. I was also charged $196.00 for license and transfer fees (this car was shipped out of state to Texas). No license and transfer fees should have been charges since the cannot transfer title. Illinois Title was put in glove box when shipped. I now have to pay Texas License and Title fees. I have called 6-7 times. The owner was called by [redacted]. When I saw this I called the salesman he said they would send me a check...that was 7 months ago. The car needs $800-$900.00 of repairs. What kind of a business can't afford to refund $196.00?? Do not buy a car here.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2014/11/06) */

While we completely empathize with the buyer of the 1961 Corvette, we have done our best to stay in constant communication while the title of...

this car is being processed. Unfortunately, there was a mistake with this title done by the previous state it was titled in, not to the sellers or buyers fault. It is not correct when the buyer wrote that we said "we cannot find the title". That simply never happened. The buyer offered to process and get a new title on his own after receiving the car, however, we have insisted and proceeded with getting the car newly titled. This is a process and due to mistakes by the Secretary of State of Illinois, it has taken longer than anticipated. Again, we have not neglected the issue, and over 10 years have never received a single complaint to Revdex.com. This issue is not the fault of Baltria Corporation. We fully expect to receive a new title and are paying for this process on behalf of the buyer. It is our responsibility to provide a clear title and we are doing that, but sometimes, not to our control, it just takes a little time. We fully expect the title any day now and will immediately send it to the new owner of the car. This complaint in fact should be to the Secretary of State and not Baltria Corporation.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 15, 2014/11/19) */
Apparently [redacted] owner of Baltria, has not been kept abreast of how this situation has been handle by his company. Not once since Baltria began the process for obtaining a bonded title has anyone from Baltria contacted me to keep me informed of where the process stands. The only time I have actually talked with anyone was only after calling multiply times and leaving multiple messages to return my phone call. Secondly, I was never informed that there was a mistake on the title from the state it was previously issued in. This is the first time I have heard this. From the beginning, I was told that the title was lost by the Illinois State DMV during the transition from the purchase of the vehicle from the previous owner to Baltria. In addition, I never offered to process or get a new title after I purchased the vehicle. I was asked by the General Manager to contact someone in my home state about obtaining a bonded title, however, Baltria thought the cost was to much. Lastly, [redacted] commented "It is our responsibility to provide a clear title and we are doing that, but sometimes, not to our control, it just takes a little time". A clear title should be provided when cash exchanges hands. Baltria's comment that sometimes things just take a little time, as of today, it has been over six months since I purchased the 1961 Corvette and Baltria has still do not provided a clear title for this vehicle, nor has anyone contacted me over the past month or returned any of my phone calls.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 17, 2014/11/25) */
First and foremost, the title did come back to us from the State on November 12th, we overnighted the title on the 13th, and he did receive it by the 15th. We attempted calling multiple times because the buyer would not accept the package from Baltria, and finally did on the 21st. I find it dishonest and confusing to then write this response to the Revdex.com on the 19th when he already had the package and messages from Baltria? We consider this matter RESOLVED. I would also like to ad that I did accompany my Manager during several calls to the client, and any call to us was responded to within hours. So to say otherwise is incorrect. We worked diligently with the buyer and the State to resolve all title issues. Again, please write the Secretary of State of Illinois for better processing. I have reviewed this case thoroughly and the absence of the title was communicated throughout the process of the car purchase, we followed through with getting a clear and correct title, and responded to all the needs of the client. The speed was completely determined by another entity, and what is important is that we did not leave our customer without completed service no matter what it took! Thank You, [redacted]
