Review: I brought a JCrew Silk Taffata bridesmaid dress to [redacted]'s Tailoring to be altered for an upcoming wedding. [redacted] advertises he has been in business for over 25 years and is an "expert tailor". I wanted the shoulder area of the dress fixed, but [redacted] suggested the sides of the dress be taken in also because the dress did not look good. Being an "expert tailor", I allowed him to pin the sides of the dress also to makes these alterations. I went back to pick my dress up and the dress was extremely too small. At this time [redacted] said he would fix the dress by the next day, otherwise he would pay me for the dress. I went back the following day and the dress still did not fit, but this time there were several incorrect stitching marks made all over the dress as well as an uneven side and hem. I explained to [redacted] the dress still did not fit correctly and had ruined material. [redacted] stated he only did what I asked, and which is not true. He is the tailor and should know where to sew or cut the material. [redacted] then began to raise his voice at me, threw the dress on the ground and used his hands as pretend guns to shoot me! I was appalled and continued to explain where the dress still needed to be fixed and despite being fixed, the material was ruined. I had my receipt and [redacted] would not release my dress. I discussed with [redacted] that I should not have to pay the entire price ($100) for the alterations because they were in correct and he was not going to be able to make any further corrections. I asked [redacted] if he would reimburse me for the dress and he stated he never said that. The dress cost ($250). [redacted] and his wife became very intimidating as well as verbally abusive and violent with the dress. I was forced to pay [redacted] the entire amount in cash and left with a dress that does not fit due to the account of [redacted]. I was literally chased out by [redacted] and his wife. As a neighborhood business, I feel someone should be aware of this service and behavior so other customers do not experience this treatment or service.Desired Settlement: I would like to be reimbursed for the cost of the dress and the cost of the alterations paid to Ban's Tailoring. I am unable to purchase another dress from JCrew because they are sold out.
