Bancroft Behavioral Health Reviews (3)

1.We provided them services in our office for visits, not knowing that they had an
insurance deductible that was not met. They never offered to pay with an HSA
card.
2. We have no way of finding out if a person even has an HSA card unless they offer
it, nor do we know...

their deductible has been met until claims are settled with their
insurance company, which can take upwards of 2-3 months (if things go
smoothly).
3. The process of filing insurance claims is done quickly on our end, however
receiving correspondence from insurance companies and reconciling an account
takes time – there is no time limit on invoicing a person for services that we
provide.
4. Once we reconciled their account and found out that they were in deductible
during those office visits, we sent them a bill.
5. The facts are: They were provided services, their insurance did not reimburse us
because they had not met their deductible, it is their responsibility to understand
their insurance policy and what they owe and it is our legal and contracted
responsibility with their insurance company to collect payments that we report as
going toward their deductible – it is considered insurance fraud if we submit
insurance claims, which effectually state that a person is paying toward their
deductible when in fact, they have not paid. We are obligated to collect the entire
amount that is owed to us per our contract with her insurance company

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Bancroft Behavioral Health is incorrect in stating that I never presented my Bank of America HSA card.  Furthermore, the receptionist(s) - there were at least 3 of them throughout the duration of my  visits.
I presented all cards with all visits and they were photcopied and returned to me.
Reconciliation of books after 6 months by your wife--- is this a conflict of interest?? [redacted] is the owner of this business, of course he may "take his time" for billing.
I will send the very unprofessional e-mail he sent to me.
This mom & pop (husband and wife) business is ripping off the customers, while he freely prescribes medications as he feels and/or as the insurance company will pay--FRAUDULANT????

Review: I, [redacted] and my son [redacted] have been seeing [redacted] (aka Bancroft Behavioral Health) since approximately 2012. In beginning 7/1/2013, Mr. [redacted] had seen me 3 times- 7/9/2013 & 9/3/2013 & 5/27/2014. He had seen [redacted] on 9/30/13, 10/21/13 & 11/2013. For each of 6 visits, we were instructed by what I surmised was the office manager to pay our co-payment amount under my Aetna policy. At no time did Mr. [redacted]'s receptionist/office mgr or recordkeeper (his wife) let us know we needed to pay additional funds to [redacted] (Bancroft Behavioral Health). On 8/27/2014, I received a notice from Bancroft Behavioral Health that I owed $508.72 for [redacted] & $485.19 for these 6 distinct visits. Needless to say, having worked with many health professionals, I do know that if you are not fully paid, they can refuse services and/or they send an invoice of payments due. Per [redacted], he just got around to reconciling his books in July 2014. My complaint is as follows:Bancroft Behavioral Health continued to see my son & I and DID NOT let us know we owed him back charges. If we had known that we owed fees for services rendered in 2013, I would have had until 3/31/2014 to pay them using my Flexible spending account.Due to inaccurate recordkeeping, I did not know about the balances I owed him and subsequently I forfeited my FSA funds (over $2400). These monies could have been paid immediately if the recordkeeping was in order.I question the fact that I will be paying Bancroft Behavioral Health monies in 2014 for services rendered in 2013. This is his personal business, isn't this illegal and/or a tax issue -- simular to post dating a check in 2013 for 2014 date? Theoretically, he will claim these payments in 2014 as opposed to 2013 when they should have been paid. Finally, is this a conflict of interest? He owns the business Bancroft Behavioral Health and his wife is the recordkeeper. Where is the control/audit occurringDesired Settlement: I am requesting to pay for service rendered in 2014 (5/27/14) $91.24 & $45.76I would like the Revdex.com to find out if there are other patients of his in this same situation. I PAY for my medical insurance others may not and with a disabled husband this whopping $1000 bill is a financial hardship to us.Investigate Bancroft Behavioral Health billing practices and audit procedures. I would think that this should be a fundamental process when running a business.
