Bangkok Thai

I received two $*** gift cards to Bangkok Thai for Christmas, and decided to use the first one tonight. I ordered an appetizer and an entree, which came to $*** and change. When I went to pick up the order, the woman at the register, who identified herself as the manager, informed me that she couldn't give me the change in cash, nor could she give me a gift card for the difference. I was given the choice either to pay for the food another way and use the gift card some other time when I was spending at least $*** or give her the entire $*** for the less-than-$*** meal. Needing dinner and not having my wallet because I'd brought the gift card, I gave her the gift card. It is ridiculous to have to use the entire value of the gift card at one time or simply lose the money.
