Mr. [redacted]:This letter is being sent in regards to the Revdex.com complaint recently filedagainst [redacted]’s Sales and Service C’[redacted]’s”) by Margaret Cavallo. The essence of thecustome?s complaint is that she was sold a Cub Cadet GTX 2000 garden tractor in 2014 that wasmanufactured by MTD...

Consumer Group Inc in 2012. She wishes to return it for credit as if it isa 2014 model tractor. The complainant further states the amount in dispute is $2,500, presumablywhat the customer believes to be the difference in value between a garden tractor manufacturedin 2012 and a garden tractor manufactured in 2014.Our records show that [redacted]’s ordered the tractor in question as a part of its preseasonsales order in December 2013. The tractor was delivered to [redacted]’s in March 2014, sold to thecustomer in May 2014 and paid in full in June 2014. Consequently, any implication that this wasan old unit languishing in [redacted]’s stock is simply not true.As you know, unlike automobiles, lawn and garden tractors manufactured by MTD donot have model years associated with them, and as a result there is no such thing as a 2014 modelGTX 2000. In fact, there were no model GTX 2000’s manufactured in 2014. Like otherconsumer products, MTD’s garden tractors are simply sold to dealers as new products and it isfairly typical for a product to be manufactured a year or two prior to its eventual sale to a dealer. The garden tractor the complainant purchased from [redacted]’s was identical to thosemanufactured by MTD in 2013; the year the model at issue was last manufactured. Additionally,I will note the paperwork provided by the customer does not indicate that a certain model year,or that the tractor was manufactured in a specific year. Further, it does not appear the customeris alleging that [redacted]’s or its employees told her the unit was a 2014 tractor, or that it wasmanufactured in 2014 when it was purchased. As a result of the above, the allegations of fraud appear to be unfounded. Should youhave any questions or concerns, or if I can be of further assistance in resolving this matter, pleasedo not hesitate to contact me.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. We do not accept the response by the business as the year of the tractor makes a huge difference in the resale value.  Even though it was sold in 2014 to us, the resale value lists as a 2012.  I have attached quick on-line searches for used lawn tractors.  As you can see the year makes a lot of difference.  Had Mr. [redacted] told us at any point that this tractor was manufactured in 2012, we would never have purchased it.It may not matter to Cub Cadet as to the value of the tractors they make or sale but it makes a huge difference to the consumer and to the resale value.

Review: I purchased a 2014 [redacted] Commandar I picked it up on March 27,2014 I was taking the machine off my trailor and it overheaded. The dealership forget to put antifreeze in the machine. I have had it back to the dealer mulitable times with the same results still overheats. I have a complaint into the customer service with [redacted] case 421898 I felt I was treated rudely I have also email the CEO of [redacted] and at this time no respone back to me. I feel that I am not getting any satisfaction from [redacted] or the Dealer.Desired Settlement: I feel that no one knows what is wrong with this machine and it should be replace. I also believe that it not my fault that the dealer didnt service this machine before he sold it to me. I bought a [redacted] 1000 I dont have to have this model I would settle for almost anything at this time.

Banik’s Sales and ServiceIn regards to the [redacted] case , we found that [redacted]’s UTV had a leak from a hoseclamp only when temperatures dropped below freezing. We’ve replaced the clamp and addedanti-freeze and test ran the Commander for days! Everything ran fine without leaking oroverheating. We cleaned it and returned it to [redacted] on March 6~ 2015. I talked to [redacted] last Saturdaythe 14~ of March and he claimed everything was working well! If you have any questions pleasedon’t hesitate to call.Regards,[redacted]Banik’s Sales and Service

Review: We purchased a Cub Cadet Lawn Tractor GTX200 from [redacted]'s Sales on May 27, 2014. We paid $4,870.70 plus more for the leaf vacuum. We were let to believe that we were purchasing a new tractor. We made it clear to Mr. [redacted] at the time of purchase that we wanted a machine that would cut grass, vacuum leaves and remove snow. Mr. [redacted] is familiar with our 2 acres of land. We already discussed with him that the leaf attachment was not working on our property we we used it this past fall. When we went to look at getting the snow blower, we were told we would have to install more equipment on it. However, we were looking to trade this in on a model that has a snow blower attachment and better leaf vacuum. The John Deere Dealer informed us that our Cub Cadet is a 2012 model and the trade in or resale value is low because of the year of the tractor. We only have 26 hours on the machine. I contacted Mr. [redacted] to get a price for the Cub Cadet. He told me that the year didn't matter. Every equipment dealer that we have spoken to or researched on line has told us the value first is based on the year then condition. Mr. [redacted] told me that the tractor would be worth $1500 less than what we paid. However, he insinuated that we may have abused it and it would be worth a lot less. We were under the assumption that we were purchasing a NEW tractor. Mr. [redacted] never told us that we were getting a 2012 model. The trade in value for this machine is less than 1/2 of what we paid.Desired Settlement: Buy back the tractor and give us FAIR value on a 2014 model tractor. We realize that there would be depreciation on a new tractor but we would like the value of a used 2014 tractor with only 26 hours on it instead of a 2012 tractor.
