Banker Insulation Reviews (6)

Mr. [redacted] stated that he purchased the home from another individual several years after it was constructed. Neither Banker Insulation nor Mr. [redacted] know the history of this property prior to his purchase. If this home was not insulated at the time he purchased it a simple home...

inspection prior to the transaction would have revealed the problem. Mr. [redacted] did not call to ask for payment until after the work was performed by another contractor. He gave Banker Insulation no opportunity to inspect the property before work began. As a result we cannot confirm that there was even a issue with this home or that he even added insulation. It is unreasonable to expect Banker Insulation to pay a bill from another contractor when we cannot even determine if the work was necessary; particularly when there was no previous notification.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Regards,[redacted]

Review: Below is a letter that I sent to Banker insulation on 3/31/14. I received an automated reply, describing that the message had been received. I have still not heard back from Banker on the manner.

I am currently in the middle of having the [redacted] staff re-insulate my home. I asked them to split up the install into 2 parts, so I could perform some upgrades to my HVAC system.

Day one was on 2/12/14. While removing the old insulation, dust and debris was raining down from my wood slatted ceiling in the formal living room. Coating my brand new couches, coffee table and priceless artworks! Upon noticing this, I informed the 2 contractors performing the work, to which they pointed me in the direction of the plastic roll in the back of their work truck. I proceeded to mitigate the dust and debris with their plastic and tape while being showered with fiberglass dust and debris from their continuing work.

The contractors then informed me that their vacuum had broken and that they were not able to clean out the entire attic. I was told that the area left un-clean was "Not that big," and "there is not that many poops there.", unsure how I could reply to that, they continued the install.

I am currently working nights. At the time of the install, I was trying to sleep during the day. After containing the dust bomb from the formal living room, I tried to get some rest, assuming that the contractors could continue the task at hand. After a couple hours, I woke up to check on the progress. When I opened my bedroom door, the quantity of dust in the air made my house look smoky! Not smelling smoke, I assumed it was more dust. I poked my head through the open attic access in the upstairs bedroom and explained that there was more dust and perhaps the attic access should remain closed to which they agreed. The dust had made its way throughout my entire home.

A few moments later one of the contractors stepped through the ceiling in the dining room, causing damage to a chandelier and a dining room table. After this incident, a supervisor ([redacted]) explained that they could have all the problems fixed with no issues. I agreed. I spent nearly 2 days dusting, vacuuming floors, washing blankets, vacuuming couches and sweeping up debris. My house was a DISASTER. It took a lot of work on my end to convince my wife why we should let Banker continue with the install.

While cleaning, I noticed more damage to my ceiling in the downstairs family room along with a popped out nail head near a HVAC register in the ceiling of the master bedroom. This damage was not reported to me, so I called [redacted] and updated the repair list. I also had noticed many scuff marks along the walls, leading up the stairs and where the ladder was placed in the guest room closet to gain access to the attic.

One of the same contractors that helped with the install, returned later that week to fix the damage. Unsurprisingly, the work was unsatisfactory. The chandelier was repaired with a can of spray paint, then was accidentally painted with ceiling paint. The ceiling paint itself did not match and the drywall patch was horrible! My wood laminate floors were also damaged during the "repairs". To add insult to injury, the screws the contractor used to reinstall the chandelier trim were removed from my wall, previously being used to hang a picture I had removed in preparation of the repairs!

At this time I explained to [redacted] that I wanted an expert to do the repairs and that I would handle it. [redacted] was very sympathetic and agreed, explaining that he would flip the bill. I continued by contacting a company for which I have that handles warranty claims on all of my furniture. I am still waiting for my paperwork to be processed. I then scheduled for a painter to come out. I received the bid then had him complete the work with exemplary results.

I am really trying to be reasonable at this point. I was trying to look past the damage caused to the floors, the nail head in the master bedroom and the scuffmarks all over my walls. I understand how much work it would take to repair the floors, repaint the stairway and closet and didn't want Banker to spend thousands of dollars on a job originally priced out at only $2,025.

On 3/13/14 I called Banker and spoke to [redacted]. I asked him if we could use backed insulation and not blown in insulation to complete the install. He explained that he was going to talk with [redacted] and get back to me.

On 3/25/14 after not receiving any word, I called and left a message. The next day I called once more and spoke to the receptionist who gave me [redacted]s cell phone number. I called [redacted] directly and scheduled to have the install completed on 3/31/14 at 8AM. He said the backed insulation change would not be a p[redacted]lem and that his crew will vacuum and disinfect the spot not finished during the first day.

This has been the story up until today (3/31/14). I was expecting the crew to arrive at 8AM. At 8:30 I receive a call from [redacted] explaining that his crew was at another job fixing something and would be at my home shortly. He then continued to discuss pricing. I explained to him that the chandelier would be $60 and the paint/drywall repairs were $300. He then quoted me a price of a few dollars over $1500 for me to pay him after the work is completed. This is a discount (after figuring out the price for repairs that I have put in so far) of around $150. Frustrated, and still trying to be fair, I asked how much were materials. He replied between 12 to 13 hundred. So I proposed 1300. He got upset and didn't think it was fair for him to do the job for free. He also voiced that he needed to provide Corporate with something other than a loss. He then finalized at a price of $1500, and explained that I would be receiving an invoice for that amount.

At 10:27 the same two Banker crewmembers that started my install weeks earlier, arrived to complete the installation. They did a much better job at laying down plastic to minimize their impact to my home. I asked if they were going to complete the clean up and sanitizing. One of the two contractors replied "Yes". I reaffirmed that the small area with droppings would be vacuumed to which he again confirmed.

A couple of hours later I saw one of the contractors come out of the attic. I had not yet herd any vacuuming so I asked how things were going. He replied that they were just finishing up. I asked about the cleaning and he said that they had finished the cleaning last time they were out. I reminded him that the vacuum had broke last time they were out and they had told me that they were unable to finish. I received no reply.

I then spoke to the other contractor who said that "the office" didn't tell them that they needed to bring a vacuum, so they do not have one. I asked why he told me that he was going to finish vacuuming if he didn't even have a vacuum. He gave no reply. I then asked if he could at least sweep up the debris to which he asked if he could borrow a broom. I refused explaining that I wasn't going to supply my tools to complete his job. After a few minutes, the contractor said that the office was going to bring him a vacuum to complete the cleanup. I then went into the attic and showed the contractors the droppings I was referring to. They proceeded to complete the job.

In the case of payment, I know now that if I wanted everything that had been damaged in my home by Banker to be fixed, the cost of repairs would have been greater than the cost originally quoted to me for the job. I would have been left with a perfect home, without paying unfair charge. But now I have a damaged home, that I can expect to never be repaired, and a payment that I cannot justify.

At this point, I feel that for me to pay ANYTHING out of pocket for this nightmare would be grossly inappropriate. I have never had to deal with such unprofessionalism and lack of regard for someone’s personal property. I have been extremely understanding and fair throughout this entire situation and I now seem to be paying for my cooperativeness. I am at a loss as to how a company that treats its customers in such a way can stay in business.

I would like to receive a phone call from someone that can help me salvage this poor experience before I receive a bill from Banker.

-[redacted]

Since I sent this message to Banker, I have received an invoice for the amount detailed previously ($1,500). I don’t want my voice unheard, and my credit damaged. Please help in any way possible.

-Thank you. [redacted]Desired Settlement: I have 3 possible outcomes:

1. I would have my laminate wood floors repaired by a reputable contractor, my hallway/stairway and closet painted and master bedroom ceiling repaired (this would complete the damages done by banker). The price I pay for the work would most likely equate to the price Banker is asking for, possibly with a mild difference that I would be happy to pay.

2. Optimally (of course) I would like to pay nothing, have the bill waved and the work considered completed.

3. If the Revdex.com reviews my case, and sees fare, I would pay for materials but not labor.

Review: I ordered a gas insert for my fire place from Banker Insulation of Northern Arizona in Cornville through Mr. [redacted] on Feb. 16, 2013 with a desire to be able to control and work it with one hand or finger since I have arthritis in my hands, and I made that clear to the salesman. The insert I was sold and that was installed on Feb. 26, 2013 needs both hands at the same time to start and control the gas. This was not made clear until after the insert was put in. The salesman told me he would find one that would do that and then only charge me the difference between the two items, considering the cost of the incorrect one as part payment for the new one. This was told to me by both the man who installed the unit and the salesman. I waited to hear from him for about 2 months and heard nothing. I called around the first part of May, 2013 and he once again said he would look for a new insert that I can use. He sounded vague as though he hadn't given it any thought at all. I called the office again on June 10, 2013 and told the woman that answered that I wanted the insert removed and a refund of my payment. She said she would notify the salesman, [redacted], to get in touch with me. At this time I have heard nothing from Mr. [redacted].Desired Settlement: I want the incorrect insert removed, leaving the fire place neat and clean, and a complete refund of all payment that I made to Banker Insulation.

Review: I own a rental home in [redacted],AZ built by [redacted] in 2003. The air conditioning system required replacement in 2013. It was discovered when replacing the system in the attic that there was no insulation in the ceiling. I had insulation blown in at a cost of $1790. Recently I found a certificate of insulation by Bankers Insulation that said R30 insulation was installed in the ceiling of this home in May 2003. A manager at Bankers Insulation refused to believe me and offered no help.Desired Settlement: Payment of the cost to insulate

Regards,

I called Banker Building Products of Albuquerque for an estimate on canals and had an appointment scheduled on 07/24/15. I took the day off and Brian never showed up. I called him to find out why and he stated that he appointment scheduled for the following Friday. I ended up loosing a day of work for this appointment. We rescheduled for the following Tuesday at 7:30 AM and once again Brian failed to show up. I called him again and he stated that he forgot. I called the manager Dana. He stated that they do not do business that way. Because I could no longer take time off he stated that he would personally come to my place and do the estimate himself on 08/08/15. I get a call from Brian stating that Dana his Manager asked him to do the estimate but he had to cancel. I once again called Dana and explained to him that I was expecting him and not Brian. Dana stated that he could not make it and asked Brian to do it. Again, I explained to Dana that Brian keeps canceling or forgets his appointments and has done it to me three times. Dana then stated that he needs to give his employees family time etc. I understand that time is needed off but not when you schedule time for estimates/work. I contacted the corporate office in Arizona and no one has returned my calls/messages.This business was highly recommended to me but because of this terrible experience I had with them, I will not recommend nor do business with them. Overall, BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE
