November 27, I met Mr [redacted] in June 2017, when we were looking for a contractor to remodel our kitchen after we had found mold under the sink and had it removed We have been without the use of our kitchen beginning in April and as of today, November 27, 2017, it is still not completedWe set a start date of July 15, 2017, but Mr [redacted] cut his thumb on a table saw so the work was delayed weeksWe signed the contract on August 5, 2017, and we were tentatively scheduled to start August 15, On August the drywall was done to fix the area where the mold had been removed The electrician arrived August 14, 2017, and changed out the ceiling lights with the drywall guy returning shortly afterward The granite countertops were done late October or early November after Mr [redacted] installed the lower cabinetsThe projection dates for the cabinetry kept changing After August it became early September, mid September, early October until finally I got very angry and he started bringing in the lower cabinets around October 26, He became quite ill so the work was sporadic and light with a few days taken off so he could get better When he returned he worked for a couple days and then disappeared much like what he has done since August After his illness Mr [redacted] would show up in the afternoons for an hour or maybe two usually after or pmA few days he didn't bother to show up at all I assume Mr [redacted] had other jobs that took priority over ours Our stone guy confirmed this when I asked him the other day if jobs have ever taken this long He said none that he knew of His explanation was that he thought Mr [redacted] had become overwhelmed with too many cabinetry projects In a way that was a relief to actually know I wasn’t nuts when Mr [redacted] kept making up his excuses for the delaysEach day was a different excuse or problem The excuses and promises he came up were absurd How many weeks does it take to spray cabinets? He would tell me he was bringing in the lower cabinets or the doors and he wouldn’t bring them He said he ordered the handles in bulk which for some reason were all bad so he had to go about miles to exchange themHe was gone all day One thing after another Perhaps these were true but I was hard pressed to believe them So much time had transpiredOn Monday, November 20, 2017, he put in the final shelving but my stove had yet to be put in as he just noticed on Saturday, November that the countertop needed to be shaved down My husband had been saying that for weeks! Thanksgiving was in days The countertop was shaved down and the stove hooked up the night before Thanksgiving I’m and my husband is We both are disabled We can’t travel so I cook for the two of us on Thanksgiving What a disappointment I managed to find in the boxes where the kitchen is stored a cake mix, some frosting and cake pans so we celebrated with desertOh we haven’t discussed the bathroom yet That has not been started We are putting in a new cabinet, sink and faucet It is now supposed to begin on November 28, and be finished on the 29th My husband cannot be without that bathroom for longer than a couple of days I told Mr [redacted] that I am unable to reach him today (November 26, 2017) though I talked to him this morning I don’t know if he will or will not come tomorrow He has broken so many promises what is one more? I figure he is hard at work trying to finish the cabinet that is supposed to be already done hence no phone call I finally have his numberI am partially to blame as I signed a contract without start or end dates I have had work done before and all the contracts included this and the work was finished in a timely manner I have lived here for years My biggest fault was I trusted Mr [redacted] I really liked him when we metI am extremely disappointed with [redacted] Cabinetry I do not recommend them What was to be an exciting new kitchen has become an albatross and something I just want completed and over with! NOTE: November 29, 2017, Mr [redacted] arrived on Tuesday afternoon to start the bathroom He has coordinated the countertop for the bathroom and backsplash for the kitchen for WednesdayThe plumber is scheduled for this afternoon This is the first time anything has been coordinated this well It is a shame that these past months were not planned and executed this way
