wedding cake, and food which was served at our wedding, the wrong menu was served, and we paid for extra food and still ran out early in reception.In the beginning everything was fine, but, as our wedding day approached things got fishy. the day before our wedding we were told by [redacted] she knew of a great bakery that will bake our cake. come to find out its Not, she charged us $300.00 for an over cooked boxed Pillsbury cake mix cake. that was sitting in the freezer of Appling with boxes in the garbage, and white frosting(Pillsbury) on the counter, all store bought product. Our wedding cake was dark and over cooked on the outside soft on the inside with globs of frosting to cover it up. Which someone had already pointed out the guy that will decorate the cake earlier before [redacted] got there on my wedding day, later she introduced the same guy to me as her SON! Then All of my food for the wedding was wrong! When I contacted [redacted] A day later she said she had a soar throat and will contact me at a later date, we ran out of food, there was no chicken in the chicken alfredo. and she refuse to return any of our calls, email or text us back. We paid well over $7000.00 (which is for 100 hundred guest) for this wedding which the ceremony was fine. But our reception food was a disappointment, we also paid her an extra $250.00 (10 extra people) for more food and seating and still ran out of food before 2hrs into the reception, bread (wrong bread served), fruit, and pinwheels. Spinach dip was salty as ____________!!!!!! Wrong meatball was served, Didn't get the chicken parmesan. My cake was leaning to the right, and it was round and not boxed like I requested! we also requested flavoring add to the cake with fruit filling in the bottom layer none this was done!!!! If you choose to deal with these people please use caution. She running a really good scam, and I still haven't heard from her yet. I deserve my money back on the box $300.00 cake, and that horrible food I didn't choose. I got married 1/1/15 an still haven't heard from these people concerning any of these concerns I've listed above.Desired SettlementMoney spent on the wedding cake and food portion.Business Response Mr and Mrs [redacted] here is my reply to your request ________________________________________________________________________________... on 1-1-15 Banquet halls contracted with a Mr [redacted] a special price for a wedding and reception at the Appling Ballroom the package was include :The facility - all decorations- Our Receptions menu ( from the very beginning ) a small wedding - wedding decor - for 100 people From the very first meeting Mr. [redacted] stated many times that the reception menu was fine as he would be bringing in additional food- he wanted to keep the event at with-in his budget we at Banquet halls of the Mid-South provided this Client with a quality wedding - and reception After this Event was booked we had several meeting at every meeting we had the Reception Menu as the selected menu . It was stated on more then one meeting that Mr [redacted] had plans to bring in additional food When we did food tasting we do provide samples different foods to give the client a choice to upgrade to a full dinner menu - one of the foods was a chicken parm when Mr [redacted] said he liked that I explained to him that would be an upgrade to a dinner menu and there would be a additional cost. he declined that additional cost to move his menu to a Dinner menu - On several calls and meeting he was no worried about the food as we was bringing in additional food On one his last meetings with my assistant he tried to go up to a seating arrangement of 150 but wanted to keep the food at 100. I called and strongly advised that he would need more food - again the reply was are having a heavy cocktail time - Not worried about the food. At no time was the menu requested to be changed to a dinner menu !!! Our company provided a quality wedding - reception The only error that we made was the meatballs were to be cranberry instead of Italian in the flavor of the kind or meatballs served - A $250.00 check was not cashed we fell that more in compensated for that food item Mr [redacted] had at the last minute I mean at the rehearsal on the Friday night had requested additional seating again . He was paying for 25 more seating and 10 guest for food the cost was at cost of $250.00 in a check when I learned that the meatballs were the wrong flavor I did not cash that check that amount more then paid for that item. The approximate guest count was 132 guest ________________________________________________________________________________... Banquet Halls provided the following services on 1-1-15 Facility - a full decorations package - all staff - a wedding - flowers - a cocktail time - wedding cake and a catering of the Reception menu which the chicken parm is not part of the menu - It was explained to the client that was for the dinner menu if he wanted to upgrade we want all our clients to have the option to offer their guest the dinner menu. Mr [redacted] made it very clear that the budget was spent and that because he was bring in food the reception menu would be just fine ________________________________________________________________________________... We have staff and guests that will agree that the food was fine- The food was consumed all services were provided in a quality manner despite the slander in which my company and had to deal with and resolve we feel all service were given to this Client we have all the outlines - and personnel that all agree that we provided in which we were hired to do. we feel we preformed on the Event as contracted ________________________________________________________________________________... This client received everything and then some that was contracted for [redacted] Banquet Halls of The Mid-South we have all the pictures - contract - and witnesees to back uo our claims Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)At the tasting I am Fully aware of what foods we choose and what we didn't, further more [redacted] wasn't at our reception for its entirty, and all the plates were not used, because we ran out certain foods early. Point blank YOU SREWED UP OUR MENU AND DIDNT BRING ENOUGH FOOD. You are Lying!!! You never explained the reason was not at o our overcooked boxed cake. I did takepictures of the box in the trash and the store bought [redacted] frosting sitting inthe kitchen. You charged us $300.00 for an over cooked store bought cake thatwas not professionally made. You told us "you knew of a wonderful bakery thatcould take care of this. A member of your staff informed me of the person thatmade the cake, I also was informed he not a baker, but your son and your son was also the bartender, that we had to us.????!!!Still noresponse.....?????Just like we thought, you ran a scam on us.

Business owner stated she would refund my $300.00 deposit because she made a mistake in booking. I gave her a deposit on 10/13/2013 and she said that because we didn't close the deal. On 10/25/2013 she let someone else have it. She apologized and stated she had a hall on [redacted] I could look at. When I arrive to see [redacted] Hall, I did not want to have my event there. She had previously told me she would have my refund on that day, then she said she would mail it. I have not received it yet. I no longer wanted to do any type of business with her. She upset me and stressed me out. At the last minute I had to find a place to accomadate my family. I really needed my money back, please assist meDesired SettlementI am seeking my deposit back. She stated she would have my refund for me on Monday July 21, 2014. But got aggravated with me when I didn't like the [redacted] hall. She acted real flaky with me when I talked to her on the phone stating that I never gave her any money and claimed she had me mixed up with another family. Each time I talked to Mrs. [redacted] I address myself as Mrs.[redacted] with the [redacted] family reunion she says she thought I was calling about the [redacted] reunion.Business Response Thank you so very much for your professional attention to this Matter. this customer Ms [redacted] came in to our hall in October 2013 place a partial payment of $300.00 which a down payment of $500.00 is required to do a contract and have the date she was to come back 10 days later and pay he remaining $200.00 and then do a contract. The was explained to her and also written on her receipt as well We did not hear form this person again till the first of July and we had never done a contract so she was not in the system. we had held the date past the required time for her to pay the remaining part of her payment which was to be paid by 10-25-13 . She was saying she was having a family reunion we had already booked the date to a family reunion. So when she came many months later she for whatever reason thinking she had the date and let me remind you she never came back in she never did a contract she does not have a contract for that date. he had waited so long like the Month before her date we felt sorry for her and we were willing to provide another hall a much nicer hall that we had the date on at the price she would have paid for the smaller hall. We had that date and even though she did not have a contract and we had no obligation to provide any additional services we were willing to help her. she became rude and even though we tried to explained to her that she had never completed her agreement with us we showed her the dates and explained that she never did a contract. I will be faxing you a copy of the receipt that states very clearly that she was to come back by a certain date and finish her paperwork. When a client pays a partial payment what they have purchased the a hold on that date meaning that from the time they place a monetary payment on a date with a agreement to come back usually 10 days later we will not sell that date to any other Client . This client did not come back when she did not return by the agreed date on her receipt and did not complete the down payment and she never came back to write up a contract for that date. The date is put back on the Calendar and is there for a new client to purchase The date in question did not even book till June 2014 that was 8 months YES 8 months after she placed the partial down payment . She purchased the date to be held with a very clear written receipt that she was to return by a later date and finish her paperwork draw up an contract and she simply failed to do that . we as a good company was willing to help her and provide a very nice place and service her even though we were not legally obligated to . we feel we did what we were paid to do which was hold a date for a certain time frame and allow her to come in and complete her paper work . On [redacted] my family and I met with [redacted] and paid $1,000 to hold a date for my daughter's wedding at the [redacted] told us we would meet at a later time and sign a contract and discuss the details. We contacted [redacted] numerous times to arrange a meeting and were finally told to meet with [redacted] at another location in [redacted] to sign the contract. However, when we got to that location, [redacted] knew nothing of our daughter's wedding, who we were, why we were there, and had no paperwork whatsoever showing that we had met with [redacted] and paid $1000. All [redacted] did was tell us we would have to meet with [redacted]. We placed several phone calls to [redacted] and [redacted], which were unreturned. My future son-in-law, [redacted] then sent an email on XX-XX-XX to [redacted]@aol.com, which was answered by [redacted] on [redacted] saying the matter would be reviewed and she would get back in touch with us. We still have heard nothing. Additional emails and phone calls have been made, but to no avail. On [redacted] my husband, [redacted], went to the Banquet Halls office on [redacted] and although the door was unlocked, no one was in the office. He waited 10-15 minutes and no one ever showed up. He did notice their business license posted on the wall expired [redacted] I have attached copies of all emails and our cancelled check.Desired SettlementFull refund of $1,000.00 plus attorney's fees and court costs if we have to pursue this matter in court
