Review: BAPS paint rep Tim B[redacted] came into our body shop and introduced a new [redacted] product called Polyester Primer [redacted]. Tim B[redacted] told the painter at the body shop that is was a fully warranted [redacted] product. Tim B[redacted] told the painter to stop wasting time and materials and use the [redacted] product that can be applied over bare metal. The painter could not disagree since the [redacted] data sheet did document the compatible surfaces it could be applied on. The body shop used the product back in December 2013 on 64 [redacted] full restoration project. We discovered four weeks later a horrible issue that was caused by using the suggested [redacted] product. We immediately contacted Tim B[redacted] for him to tell us again that the [redacted] product is a fully warranted [redacted] product. He told us [redacted] normally will cover the cost of materials, along with 60% of the invoice. After not hearing back from Tim B[redacted] we contacted [redacted] Brian M[redacted] that came into the body shop to explain to us that the [redacted] product [redacted] is not a fully warranted product. The [redacted] folks never figured out why we had this issue. BAPS rep Tim B[redacted] never attempted to help or resolve the issue. The body shop was very loyal in trusting BAPS with all of our [redacted] products. Unfortunate, this is not the only issue we had relative to being told wrong by BAPS rep Tim B[redacted]. The body shop has taken a huge lost for being told incorrectly. The total lost not including pending items being determined if we have additional negative impacts moving forward equals $19,357.46.We stopped using BAPS and we have now discovered by [redacted] folks that the following is outdated. - Monthly updates (BAPS charges $35.31 a month) We were 12 months behind. - Paint Chip decks - over 2 years oldDesired Settlement: The body shop is will to settle the case for $7,432.42. This is the total amount that BAPS is indicating that the body shop owes. We disagree since $5621.20 is the small [redacted] shop kit that [redacted] owns and can be transfer to our new [redacted] rep but the body shop is will to take the small [redacted] shop kit as part of the settlement. Along with the items mentioned above for being charged incorrectly and not receiving the correct services that we paid for.

Response:

October 31, 2014Dear [redacted],This letter is in response to correspondence your organization received from [redacted] of [redacted]. (Revdex.com complaint ID [redacted]).The issues that [redacted] reports as facts in her letter are emphatically disputed by BAPS, Inc. Mr. Timothy B[redacted] (BAPS) has spent considerable time and resources to correct the misunderstanding to no avail.BAPS has been in business for over 35 years and is a Platinum Distributor for [redacted], a publicly-traded, [redacted]-based company. Both companies highly value and defend their reputations and – collectively – investigate and correct the very limited, reasonable, customer complaints that occur.Mr. B[redacted] offered [redacted] a “courtesy credit” which was not accepted and, in response, BAPS was the recipient of a fax threatening a lawsuit, which – if initiated – will be vigorously defended. The credit was offered because [redacted]'s technician confused two new products that were introduced by BAPS and chose the wrong process on the restoration project mentioned in the complaint letter. If I can be of further assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact me directly.Best Regards,Bryan E. Chief Operating Officer
