October 12, I got a call, from *** from (XXX) XXX-XXXX at SWMTAShe wants us to meet with her this Saturday Oct 17th for an appointment to discuss signing my yr old daughter to the agency as a modelI asked *** Flat OUTif she is selling classes, showcases, photos etcShe said "NO", that they are just an agency looking for nothing other than to sign my daughter to an agency and that the only money changing hands will be through percentage of booked jobsMy research shows otherwiseIt turns SWMTA (Barbizon) is looking to bring us in in person to try the sales pitch to sell us an overpriced showcase SWMTA, you should be UP FRONT in order to be considered legitIf your goal is to sell classes and showcases don't be ashamed of ifLet the person on the phone know BEFORE wasting their time to drop everything and come down to meet you in personWe have busy livesI have filed this agency in my SCAMS folderBeware People
I had a wonderful experience with Barbizon of Tucson and SWMT agencyI attended Barbizon classes as an adolescentThe classes were represented by a wonderful group of instructorsEach instructor demonstrated a caring, enthusiastic, and knowledgable demeanorIt was through those classes that I was able to build self confidence, public speaking skills, learn age appropriate and professional makeup application, and build my modeling and acting portfolioAs a young adult, I was given the opportunity to sign a contract with their agencyWhile signed, I booked modeling jobs throughout the greater Tucson and Phoenix areaMy experience with Barbizon of Tucson and their agency (SWMT) always remained consistent and professional
Whether you have an interest in building an acting/modeling career or just want to build self confidence, Barbizon classes prove beneficial for any adolescent or young adultHad I signed with the agency or not, the information I learned at Barbizon aided me in those awkward and uncomfortable adolescent yearsIn addition, much of the information I learned at Barbizon I continue to apply today
I would highly recommend Barbizon classes to anyone looking to gain confidence, expand their style, makeup skills, strengthen public speaking skills, and/or to build their modeling/acting portfolios
