I lost my job as well as my car. I had financial issues in which I had never had before. This was my first time having this kind off issue. I was not given the opportunity to be worked with. Although I was told I would be I was taken to court. I decided to move out of my apartment without a 30 day notice because I was told if I did not have the money for my rent I would have to leave anyways. I requested to be notified when a walk through was done on my apartment I was never contacted. The property manager at this time [redacted] kept all of my deposit when it was more than the rent. It was at least 700.00 dollars. I moved out on August 31st, 2015. Yet I am being told I owe for Septembers rent, I was not in the apartment at all in September. I since then have received a letter stating that I owe 537 and change which is on my credit report. I need this issue resolved. I have a great job at this time and a new car. I had to move back home with my parents I have found a great place my myself and my two children, I would like this fixed so that the place I have applied for there will be no issues.Desired SettlementI left my apartment in great condition. I moved out because I knew I would not have the money in time, I told the property manager [redacted], I could have the money a week after the date she told me I needed it but she would not work with me. She kept telling me to write a letter to [redacted] her boss, I called him numerous of times yet he never returned my phone calls. I have called the corporate office a numerous of times yet no one has returned my phone call. I feel it is unprofessional and not be handled in the proper way. I need this reso9lved and to speak with someone regarding this issue.Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted]Contact Phone: [redacted]Contact Email:[redacted]Ms. [redacted] moved into Barden Ridge Apt on May 16, 2014. and gave notice of her Intent to Vacate dated August 31, 2015 received Sept 1 2015 in the office. Since May 2015 we have worked with Ms. [redacted] on her late rent and gave her final notice in July that if all charges were not paid we would file eviction for possession of the units and collection of unpaid rent and charges. The lease requires a 30 day notice in the lease which meant she is responsible for the 30 days from her Notice of Intent to Vacate. We explained to her that we would file legal paperwork but if she paid all $ due, we would drop the eviction. As of her moving out over night with out the 30 day notice, she owed the August rent, late charges and filing fees as well as the 30 day notice. Ms. [redacted]'s lease reflects $495 paid as security deposit. The security deposit was deducted from the total outstanding leaving a balance of $539.75 due by Ms. [redacted]. It is our policy to file the outstanding balance due for collection. This was done in the case of Ms. [redacted]. We feel that Barden Ridge worked with Mr. [redacted] for 4 months prior to taking legal action for collection of unpaid rent and other charges.
