Review: This companies return policy for defective merchandise defaults to a label that requires shipping cost be borne by consumer.

Seller shipped defective, possibly counterfeit items. Using the seller port, Amazon.com I requested a return label. The designation :defective" was available and checked. The label that printed was a label requiring I pay postage. BareBones WorkWear responded; Our return policy (which is located both in our Amazon information and on our direct web page) states: "For defective items or items shipped in error, please call toll free 1-866-489-4142 (US only) or 1-916-287-9100 (outside US) or email us to arrange for your prepaid return shipping label."

We ask that customers contact us in order to make sure that we can cover the shipping for items that are defective because we do not feel that customer should have to bear that cost. However, once a return item has been shipped we are unable to refund more than the amount that the items were purchased for." This matter is further complicated by teh remark, Items must be returned by July 28th when I printed the label, causing a sense of urgency to get the item returned.

The company should have to honor their policy of picking up the return postage for defective items, AND require their label to print pre-paid if the defective item button is used at Amazon.com.Desired Settlement: $17.20 paid to UPS for return postage.

Final Consumer Response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)

I have already contacted the business "Bare Bones Workwear" directly and they are unwilling to stand behind thier defective product to the extent that I received a refund of my shipping costs. I believe the items BBW ships may be counterfeit versions of Carhartt pants and have contacted that manufacturer already.

Review: Placed my order on 12/5/13, didn't ship until 12/21/13 and only shipped one of the two items I ordered with a hand written note of refund of one item.

I placed an order on 12/5/13 for two Rocky Mountain jackets, same sizes. One was supposed to be a birthday gift and the other for Christmas. Seller stated items should be received by 12/16-12/18. I contacted them several times regarding the status of my order since they still did not ship my items as of 12/19/13. They wrote back saying there was a delay in shipping, yeah obviously. On 12/21/13 they finally shipped my items, or so I thought. Since I could no longer give the one item as a birthday gift because the date had passed I decided to give both for Christmas. I received the package on 12/24/13 and put to the side. I opened it Christmas morning, told my husband and son to close their eyes and hold out their hands so I could place the jackets in each of their hands, only to find ONE jacket. You know how heart breaking it was to tell one of them that they didn't have a gift??? Inside the package was a shipping slip with a hand written note stating one jacket could not be found and I was to be refunded. Had the company just emailed me once they shipped I could have gone out shopping to find a replacement gift for my husband. It was horrible finding out on Christmas morning, I'm very disappointed.Desired Settlement: For my emotional suffering I am requesting the exact same jacket I was trying to order in the first place so I can give it to my deserving husband. It's called "Rocky Men's Silent Hunter Tree Hardwoods" jacket, size XL. That's all I ask is that this company send me a complimentary jacket for all this trouble and embarrassment I felt Christmas morning.

Review: I purchased a product from the named company. I also paid for express delivery (1-3 business days)for the product on July 2nd. I contacted to find out why my product hadn't shipped. I was told in an email that it takes time to process the order. It showed a ship date of July 9, july 10. The product has not been shipped. I knew it would take a few days, but if you pay for express 1-3 over standard of 3-5 a customer is lead to believe you will get the product faster. This is not the case. When I contacted the company, they stated that it was in the hands of the processing center.Desired Settlement: I would like my express shipping cost refunded. This company is deceptive.
