This customer laid away $worth of merchandise a year ago and came in a year later to cancelWe told her we still would give her full credit towards a purchase of $and she said nolater the same day we even offered to give full credit towards a purchase of $or more which I guess she forgot to mention in her complaintShe waits a year without calling us or mentioning she wants to cancel which she does not mention in her complaint eitherWe will still offer a full credit towards a purchase of $or more

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I did not lay away any merchandise because the furniture was not even in the store he had to order it from whatever the company he use to get furniture from I never signed anything in writing stating I had a set date to call in and cancel nor did I sign anything that said I was obligated to purchase anything out of his store The only thing I signed was a paper indicating that after day of the merchandise being on layaway there would be no refunds it would be a store creditI don't care how long the layaway went untouched I was never told I had a deadline to get the furnitureI am not spending any more money than I have already have with this company because these are the things that come with doing a layawayYou can't force people to purchase your furniture even if I did put it on layaway I cancel layaways all the time and I have never encountered any such rule When you tell customer pay when you want and get it when you want you have to live up to thatI would need something in writing that I signed that states that I am obligated to purchase is furniture because this just seems like something bogus that was made up just as I requested to cancel the layawayI found better quality furniture and no longer want the layaway ill get something out of the store for dollars but Im not spending any more money because I don't have to and I won'tMy mother is a business owner and she has never heard of this law either.

I recived your complaint to and found out that this dresser has been replacedWe didnt have the dresser in stock and it took a while for it to come in

We laid away $3200 worth of furniture for this customer and would ask that she completes the transaction she started. We have also said we would allow here full credit of her $400 towards a sale 1/4 that dollar amount. When we layaway/price hold furniture for a customer we are guaranteeing them that price on the furniture a week from now, a month from now  or a year or more from now as long as the customer makes a regular payment there is a risk in this as items go up in price all the time. We took a risk on $3200 worth of furniture going up in price when she laid it away. Again she can  get full credit of her $00 toward a sale of $800 or more

forgot to mention in her complaint. She waits a year without calling us or mentioning she wants to cancel which she does not mention in her complaint either. We will still offer a full credit towards a purchase of $800 or more
