In anticipation of an allegation of confidentiality, on April *, 2016, in alternative to providing a copy of the distribution agreement to me, the complainant, I asked Barkan Mounting Systems, Maya N***, to forward a copy of the agreement to the Guest Services Manager, Arlene K***, ***, *** *** *** *** *** ** ***. She was provided with both the phone number and fax number for MsK***. Another option was:
To provide the Illinois Attorney General (ILG) a copy of this agreement referencing their investigation number: ***The ILG’s mailing address is

Third, send the agreement to the complainant with any truly confidential information redacted from the document. I am only interested in the products provided for retail sale, and dates said agreement is or was in force
It would appear to me that Barkan Mounts is merely demonstrating a bias for their client by not assisting in consumers with their genuine interests in obtaining business propriety in hopes of continuing or increasing product sales. Any one of the aforementioned options is acceptable

The response from Barkan is nonsensical. First, if they will tell me who at ***, other than the Guest Services Manager, a member of their senior management team, I should contact I would be more than glad to do so When this litany of correspondence began, I DID first make an attempt to contact a *** liaison manager for Barkan. Barkan's website asked consumers to contact: ***. BUT, my email to this "sweesner", was returned "undeliverable". They have now removed the email address and substituted the URL for ***This company is merely seeking to make a simple issue convoluted. The issue for the past six months has been: Is or was ***'s a vendor for Barkan products, now or in the past? If they would simply answer the question, I may be able to secure a refund from *** under their refund policy as it appears that their correspondence unit is unable to locate the SKU for the mounting which I purchased. Now, if this too complicated for Barkan, or they feel their is a serious breach of confidentiality, they could simply call the Guest Services Manager at ***And if this an issue for them, they could simply send a copy of the agreement to the Office of the Illinois Attorney General, Attn: Consumer Fraud. They should reference the investigation number: ***.Now surely one of the above referenced options would protect the integrity of the agreement and satisfy my needs

We do not forward our agreements to employees of a company we have an agreement with. If the employee wants a copy they must go to upper management of the company. If upper management agrees then said employee will get the contract from them not us.

Our agreements with our business partners are legally binding and confidential. We can not under any circumstances give them to a retail customer. It would be a violation of said agreement. Additionally, Since he has no receipt as is clearly stated in the complaint, there is no proof [redacted]...

purchased the mount from [redacted]. [redacted] could have purchased this mount from other distributors of Barkan. As far as we are concerned, it does not matter where the mount was purchased, as we could never provide a copy of any distribution agreement we have with any of our partners. It is ethically and legally wrong. Please feel free to contact me at the number provided if I can be of any further assistance.

Additionally, Since he has no receipt as is clearly stated in the complaint, there is no proof [redacted] purchased the mount from [redacted] could have purchased this mount from other distributors of Barkan. As far as we are concerned, it does not matter where the mount was purchased, as we could never provide a copy of any distribution agreement we have with any of our partners. It is ethically and legally wrong. Please feel free to contact me at the number provided if I can be of any further assistance.
