Barkwood Landscaping

We hired Barkwood Landscaping to build a brick Patio. We were leery the day before they started as we were asked to set the design plan under a rock outside as they didn't have the plan to start the job. They started...and ended 4 months later when we were told it would be 2 weeks. We called many times after weeks with no work done, getting no response. This occurred over and over. Then they built the patio in the middle of our existing landscaping where in order to get onto the patio, we had to walk through our rose bushes. We brought this up and they claimed they would fix it with no extra expense as it was their mistake. We ended up having them rip up our year old landscaping apart to create a walkway to be able to get onto the patio. When that wasn't even done yet, the owner of Barkwood admitted to us he had started a new job in a subdivision right behind us, we were irate as our patio wasn't even done yet and and our yard had been tore up all summer long and they started a new job. When it was finally done, we received a bill that was higher than we were quoted. We were charged $200 more for lights than quoted, we were charged for materials to "fix" the problem with the walkway that had to be created to get onto the patio when we were told they wouldn't charge extra to fix their problem, we could go on and on with discrepancies with the bill. We immediately called to talk about the bill and we received NO call back. We were not surprised as the are all too notorious for that. We now have discovered that the patio is uneven in many areas, it doesn't pitch away form the house as it should and there are many low uneven spots that puddle after rain. We are LIVID. And on top of it, the higher priced than quoted lights DO NOT WORK! We regret ever hiring them and anyone who considers Barkwood should know this, NO ONE deserves this. We were completely taken advantage of. Now we are in a legal battle and will be most likely soon taking them to court. Please, DO NOT use Barkwood Landscaping, you will be very disappointed.

Hired Barkwood Landscaping to build a stone patio. Started in the fall of 2012 and was competed Jan 2013, also paid extra for top soil and grading around the patio.
Spring rains of 2013 the water outside the patio was draining towards the foundation and had to bring in 3-4 cubic yards of topsoil to correct drainage. Called Barkwood and promises were made but never completed, more calls resulted in a voice mail box that was full. More rains resulted in standing water on the patio that was not leveled properly to drain water off the deck. More calls and the mistakes were admitted and more promises were made. One attempt was made to fix the issue which did nothing to solve the problem. More calls and more promises were made and they did nothing to correct their problems.
We had to hire another company to provide us with a proposal to fix the patio and have now taken the company to court for settlement.
