Repairs have been made on the 1994 Cougar (3.8 engine) in question. All external parts have been replaced as original as the automobile was so equipped. the valve covers in question are the identical valve covers the automobile had when work was performed. Both technician and...
manager are adamant the valve covers have NEITHER been altered NOR replaced by this business. Inquiry to any Ford dealership parts department will prove stock, original valve covers on the vehicle in question are stamped steel, NOT aluminum. All labor and parts are guaranteed for a full year, if there is a question regarding work performed please contact us. As of yet, there has never been a single request from the owner to re-evaluate any problems with said repairs.
Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:I have had this car for 20 years and have always taken care of it. I took it to [redacted] who told me the first time I went there were not my valve covers because they were not solid aluminum. I can no longer purchase these. I then went to the police to file a police report for theft at Barney's. The police told me to get documentation from [redacted]. I went back to [redacted] and they started screaming at me that they wanted a part number. I did not have a part number to give them. They just kept screaming at me. Barney's is refusing to give me my original parts back. They offered me $150 in a refund, but I refused. The parts they put on my car doo not even have a bar code which means they are aftermarket parts as manufacturer partss do come with a bar code.
Sincerely,
[redacted]
To reiterate, stock valve covers on a 1994 Cougar (3.8 engine) when issued have always been stamped steel, NEVER aluminum. The gentleman needs to inquire through the parts department of ANY Ford dealership to POSITIVELY confirm that the stock valve covers in question were always stamped steel NOT aluminum as believed. To repeat once more, the valve covers are the exact identical valve covers the automobile had when work was performed. The valve covers have NEVER been altered NOR replaced! Furthermore, in reference to the bar code, any bar code decal would have been stripped away in the machine shop cleaning process!!
