I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I want to start off by saying that 70% of the response given by Barney's is incorrect. I said that the people who got me the present were from minnesota, and that they could have possibly have bought there or here in California. Next, as far as not knowing what was paid in order to do a return, Barney's offers the last/lowest price sold as the price when no receipt is available. They actually looked up the item and it showed the current selling price which was exactly what was on the sweater tag. If this sweater was over one year old then why are they currently selling at the same price and there was 2 other locations that carried it. Thirdly, if the sweater looked worn then Barney's needs to stop reselling worn merchandise, I received the sweater in the exact condition as it was when I took it in to exchange. In conclusion, just based on the responses, it is obvious that Barney's representatives assume and prejudge a situation without knowing the full story. Every one of their responses, with the exception of one was all assumed. The only accurate statement in their entire response was the fact that they said it was on clearance and they could not do a refund or return. I asked if they could make an exception due to the fact that the sweater was literally 2 sizes to small and I wouldn't be able to use it, especially for the amount of money that was paid. I am very disappointed that Barney's has no ability to reason with ones situation, if they could locate the exact sweater in my size I would be happy to keep the sweater, but unfortunately they are not even willing to exchange it for the right size, which is poor customer service to say the least,. I can see their point of view if I had purchased it and was informed that it was a final sale, but unfornately I received it as a gift and had no way of knowing it was a final sale. Quite honestly, I am amazed at how far this has gone just because Barney's wants to be stubborn in their position. In business you really have to look at each case and make a reasonable decision, because no policy can accommodate ever person or situation fairly, it should be on a case by case basis.
