Barr & Barr Reviews (1)

Review: Barr Chem-Dry treated and cleaned my carpets. Part of the treatment was for pet stains, that they found with a "black light" and was not visible to the human eye. The cleaner stated that there would be some discoloration after the carpets dried, but it would disappear after a few vaccums. It has been three months and it has become visibly worse, and they refuse to even come and look at the issue or attempt to complete a cleaning on those areas to try and remove the discoloration. And now they will not answer their phones or return my calls.Desired Settlement: Attempt to re-clean just the areas that have discoloration and if it cannot be removed through cleaning, replace the carpeting in the areas that have been stained.

Response:

Attached is a copy of the customers invoice where she signed the authorization for treating her carpet for pet urine. We would have been happy to help her if she had called within a reasonable timeframe of service (two weeks). Four months later is not a reasonable timeframe. Many things can happen to a carpet within that timeframe.

I am rejecting this response because:

The areas that this company treated spread beyond the areas in which they completed the treatment of the pet urine stains. In addition, the areas in which the company "found" pet stains that were not visiable to the human eye, but only with their "black light" should not have caused this type of discoloration, being that there was no discoloration to begin with.

In regards to the timeframe, the stains were noticed when bright light (sun) comes in through the windows, which was not right away, but the cleaner that conducted the cleaning of the carpets, stated that the staining would disappear after a good amount of times of vaccuming, so that is what I did when I did notice them. I continued to vaccum at my normal intervals, to attempt to see the stains disappear. After that I had to have emergency surgery, that had me restriced to the bed for a month, after my recovery I had to focus on returning to work and my first available chance to schedule a time for the carpet cleaners to come out and just look at it, I did that.

If the company would just look at the areas, they would see that it is not additional pet stains on the area...in addition, I have personally smelled the areas to ensure of this and there is no urine scent.

No matter of what the timeframe is, the company in good faith should at the very least come out to look the areas in which this happened, prior to stating that "anything could have happened." They should be able to notice the difference between pet stains and the staining of their pet urine treatment.

Regards,
