Paid $40 for mold test report in October 2015. Check was cashed, but I received no report.I sent a sample of mold with a $40 check to be tested 10/24/2015. I was to receive a report in 3 weeks, but to date I have not. My check was cashed 11/6/2015 for this service. I attempted to resolve this through the company website, but received no reply.Desired SettlementSince I have not received the report as promised, I no longer require their services and would like my $40 refunded.Business Response The consumer's test kit arrived at the testing lab on 11/4/15 and their test report was emailed to them on 11/11/15 to the email address listed on their information card. [redacted]@aol.comAs explained to the consumer, these reports are very large PDF files and may very well be diverted by their computers security into their junk/spam mail. This test was in fact emailed twice from our facility.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I submitted a complaint on their website (twice) to resolve this issue and received no response. The email address listed is incorrect. The email address should read [redacted]@aol.com If they resend this report to the correct address, I would consider closing this complaint.Final Business Response I have looked at the consumers information card and the "cl" in their email address closely resembles "d". I have sent their test results to the correct address and have offered to refund their lab fee and I will provide them with a free test kit if they so desire.Final Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)I appreciate the offer for refund. I received the report I paid for an I am not looking for additional punitive measures. I am disappointed it came to this action for resolution. I attempted to use their web site contact to no avail. Thank you.

Complaint[redacted] ruined 2 expensive brushes. This product is worthless! This product ruined 2 brand new brushes: a 2" Linzer brush and a 1 1/2" Purdy. I stained barstools with [redacted] stain and poly. I used this product to clean these products...expecting to stain more stools the next day. I shook the bottle as per the directions. Then I it poured into a glass jar. I put the brushes into the jar and sloshed around. I noticed a buildup starting to form on the handles. when I pulled them out, I realized the liquid was gelling and was real slimy. I tried and tried for over 30 minutes to get the brushes clean, but both remained slimy as $h!t. There was no way these brushes could be used again.Desired SettlementI want $50! to replace the 2 brushes ($15.95 & $14.99 plus tax) $35) and refund of this product (8.98 + tax) and a few bucks for aggravationBusiness Response This product, [redacted] is our eco-friendly product side of the chemical industry. It is a hydrotreated light distillate, and emulsion as it has some water in it. This is a non flammable product and is biodegradable. It will clean wet brushes if directions are followed but will not restore hardened brushes. As an emulsion, this product must be shaken before every use as stated on the on the label to ensure the solutions are mixed thoroughly, if not shaken the product separate's and when poured out you will not get a complete mixture resulting in a usage failure.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)what exactly is their response? If they actually read my complaint, they would have known I followed their directions to the letter. The brushes that were ruined were brand new. Final Business Response As I states to the consumer, this is our eco-friendly line of products, non flammable and biodegradable. I will clean brushes very well if directions are followed. If the consumer has his receipts for his brushes, he can send them to me at the address below. I cannot issue a refund without a receipt per [redacted] regulations. That being said, a refund will be for his brushes and product only. [redacted]PO BOX [redacted]XXXXXAttn: Consumer Affairs

Items damaged in home from leaking damp rid bagOn or about 8.2.15 my daughter noticed her purse that was on the floor in her closet was damaged and appeared wet. After further inspection she realized that the damp rid bag that was hanging in her closet had leaked on to the floor and on to a jacket that it was hanging next to. She disposed of the bag immediately as she has a 2 year old daughter and we have a pet living in our home. The warnings on the box clealry state that it is harmful if the contents get on your skin , or in your eyes etc.She called me as I was traveling and I told her another bag from the same box of 4 had leaked approximately 2 weeks prior in my linen closet. I washed all the items in my linen closet twice to be safe.I told her to check the other 2 boxes from the box of 4 and put them in the garage away from her daughter and the dog. I telephoned the company and was told they would not file a complaint because I did not save the leaking bags. I explained to Ms. Cynthia Lovelace that under no circumstance was I saving a leaking bag with a harmful substance. She recorded some of our conversation but not all of it , which I found odd. She told me there was nothing harmful in the bags. I asked her why the US Dept Health and Human Services has warnings about immediately and properly disposing of the bags if they are leaking. I also offered to send her the other 2 bags out of the box of 4 so they could inspect them, since 2 of the 4 bags leaked. She said she did not want them every bag is made separately. I have photographs of the damaged hand bag and jacket which I am happy to send, as well as the warning on the government web site.I also have a letter of her denying my claim, because I did not save the bags. The damaged items can easily be tested to prove it is their product on them. Desired SettlementTo replace the jacket and the Louis Vuitton hand bagBusiness Response W M BARR did in fact open a consumer claim on Mrs. [redacted] on 8/3/15 and forwarded this claim to our TPA ( Insurance Adjusters ) for resolution. Claimant stated that she had discarded the suspect leaking bag therefore it could not be inspected by our quality team to determine if it was actually a MFG defect. As per our non litigated procedures if there is no container to inspect, the claim is denied. Claimant was made aware of these findings on 8/5/15.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I have attached the warning label on the box. It clearly states it is harmful if ingested or comes in contact with your eye and to seek immediate attention. Also to keep out of Children's reach. It would not have been safe for me to keep leaking bags of there product , it is a liabiltiy for them had I done so. As I stated earlier I have a toddler and a pet in my home. I disposed of the bags immediately which was the responsible and safe thing to do.My conversation was taped by their representative up until the point I read her the warnings on the box. She took the recorderoff and stated "there was nothing dangerous in the bags or harmful. " Clearly this is not true or they would not have all the warnings on the box.I find it even odder and irresponsible of them not to accept my offer to mail them the other 2 bags of the product that came in the box of 4 , since two were defective. Why would they not want to inspect them.I have sent pictures of the bag that is damaged, as the product destroyed the lining in the bag and the handles. I am willing to send it to a lab to prove that it is their product. I want them to replace the bag . I will hire a attorney if necessary , as the bag cost over 1000.00 dollars.Thank you,[redacted]Final Business Response DampRid is made from Calcium Chloride, a salt. Yes there are warnings on the container because it is a SALT. As explained in claimants denial letter, it is W M BARR's non litigated procedures that require all suspect leaking containers be returned for inspection by our R&D/Quality department to determine if in fact it is a MFG defect. Without this bag, we must issue a denial of her claim.

have not received results from a MOLD TEST KIT On 4/19/15 a MOLD TEST KIT along with $40.00 was submitted. On 5/8/15 the check was deposited into the WM BARR account. To date I have not received results from said test. Every time I call, a service answers with different extensions to dial. I have left messages at every extension and have not had a return call. I have also left email messages requesting a call back. I would like my money back. Please helpDesired SettlementI would like a total refund of the $40.00 for the test that they never completed. Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted]Contact Phone: XXX-XXX-XXXXContact Email: [redacted]The mold test kit in question was received here at W M BARR on 4/30/15 and processed through our lab. The test results were sent to the consumers correct email address on 5/7/15. We have not received either an email nor phone call in reference to this issue. We can provide you with a copy of consumers address and email information directly from the report if requested. I suggest consumer check their junk/spam email as these reports are large PDF files.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I checked my email and can't find that file. Is it possible for them to send it again. Final Business Response This is actually my second reply to this request. Mrs. [redacted]'s Mold Test results were originally sent to the email address she provided on her information card on 5/7/15. I can provide a copy of these reports that show the date and valid email if necessary. As explained previously, these reports are large PDF files and often diverted to ones junk mail instead of their in box.

Company has cashed my check but not provided service yet. Tired of waiting. No answer or calls returned on their behalf. On May 6, 2015 I sent WM Barr company a sample of what I believe is mold from my residence. The service they are supposed to provide is mold testing(mold armor test kit). They are to send me back an analysis and report on the sample I sent them within 2-3 weeks. As of today, July 8, 2015 I have not received this report/analysis. I have called and left messages with my concern and contact info to no avail. Their answering machine is all I get, not once a live representative. I have a baby and a toddler and Im depending on this company to provide this report so I know my children are in a healthy environment. The company cashed my $40 check#** on May 29, 2015 and deposited to [redacted] with a #[redacted] stamped to the front. I since acquired another means for mold testing so I wish for a refund of $40Desired Settlement$40 refundBusiness Response We received Mr. [redacted] mold test on 5/26/15 and processed it through our facility on that same day. Mr. [redacted] did not provide an email address with his mold test and a hard copy of his report was sent to Mr. [redacted] via [redacted] on 6/8/15.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)It is now July 19, 2015 and I have not received a hard copy report from wm barr.Final Business Response We are sorry the customer is not satisfied but their mold test was sent to their valid email address well within the specified time. We have no control over their computer system and their emails.Final Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)

The product Odorless Mineral Spirits is harmful to wood.I purchased their product Odorless Mineral Spirits from [redacted] a month or two ago. I used it to prepare one piece of a red oak for polyurethane application. Immediately when I wiped the board with the product the board went from a smooth board to a pitted and uneven state. I have tried re-sanding the board completely and starting again twice but the board will not accept the urethane uniformly. It becomes a sticky mess on part of the board where other parts do not get the urethane to stick at all. I spoke with technical support to see if there was anything I could do to fix the problem. The person wouldn't listen to me, hung up on me, and told me it wasn't the product, it was my wood. If it was the wood why does the only part I have trouble with is where I applied the product. The product does not clean brushes properly, and generally does not do any of the things it asserts. Desired SettlementI would like a replacement to the $50 piece of red oak that the product destroyed.Business Response Odorless mineral spirits cannot damage wood. It is used to clean wood prior to applying a finish. Once the Odorless Mineral spirits is applied, you must allow sufficient time for the product to out gas/evaporate before applying the next finish whether it is paint, varnish, lacquer etc. We have spoken to the claimant twice and provided this information to her.

I used there Goof off rust stain remover. It turned my shower floor green. In Jan 2016 I sprayed the bottom of my shower with the Goof off for bathrooms and whenI tried to rinse it off, the green tint stain it made did not come off. I called co. And he rudely turned me over to their insurance co. I spoke with [redacted] and e-mailed her pictures, mailed product back, got an estimate for repair for 549.00 and receipt of product. She e-mailed back first blamming me that it was on too long then after that was resolved blamed that the shower is too old. My shower is 23 years old. That should not matter and nothing on label that shower has to be a certain age.Desired SettlementShower refinished.Business Response When we originally received the complaint from [redacted] she stated that she left the cleaner on her shower pan for fifteen minutes in stead of the 20-30 minutes required per the container label. This is not a [redacted] defect but rather a miss use of product. Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I decided to drop this case. The man I originally spoke to was the most hateful person I ever spoke to. I can not deal with that company any further with their hateful talk and dishonesty. I was kind to him and he was terrible they lied they told me it wasthe age of the tub they are liers and I cannot deal with them any longer. Thank you
