Barrel Of Monkeys

At the daycare Barrel of Monkeys, there is ONE older women that I must say, is very unprofessional to me. EVERY TIME I pick up my step-daughter from this place, she looks at me like I am beneath her. Even if I say “hello” she ignores me and writes me off in her book. I asked my step-daughter if she is like that with all the parents and she told me that she’s only like that when the step-parents pick up the children. I might only be the step-mother but I should be treated with just as much respect as her mother. I have a son of my own and I will NOT let my child attend this place due to this unprofessionalism. A person should not be treat any differently than the biological parents.
Another issue I have is regarding how much of a fuss they make when the schedule has to change due to my step-daughter participating in a youth sport after school. Her mother and I shouldn’t have to worry about how the daycare will react when we have to get her early because she has a game or practice. They are paid for the little services they provide. I have found that each time I go there, the older children are not doing anything fun. They are always made to sit and keep quiet while the younger children are running all over the place. My daughter does not like attending due to the same older women always yelling at her and her friends for “acting like children”. This is a daycare, not a prison and they are just children regardless of age.

Review: My complaint about Barrel of Monkeys Daycare is that, my children were only there maybe six days total at most. During the six times my children went to Barrel of Monkeys I asked for a bill several times to the morning workers and no one could provide me any information. No one could tell me anything about how I was paying or when. No one knew who distributed the bills, when they distributed the bill, they knew nothing! For registration fees I paid $35 per child, plus $40 per child for a supply fee. They didnt provide food, diapers, wipes, formula or even bottles for my daughter. My daughter was 3 months at the time so she wasnt doing any arts or crafts so there wasnt any supplies they provided. I have already given them $155 dollars and yet they are sending me a bill that was postmarked on September 21st 2013 with the paperwork inside dated September 15th 2013. Saying that I am on my last notice to pay this bill of $175 and I have ten days to pay it, yet I have not received anything from this daycare since I pulled my children out.Every day that my son would come home he would be starving saying he didnt eat the entire time he was there which was 12 hours. I even packed his lunches and they wouldnt even give him his food that I packed. He would tell me that he would ask the teacher for his food and he was ignored.When I asked to speak with the owner she was nowhere to be found. She never even called. They had a lady [redacted] call me instead. The owner, [redacted], didnt care about my concerns. The reason I wanted to speak with her was concerning my daughters face which got injured and scarred by another child at the daycare. She had multiple scratches by her eyes and many smaller scratches on her scalp. I, nor any emergency contact was notified about this incident. When I asked why I wasnt notified I was told, We dont call behind minor scratches, yet scratches were on her eye-ball. They acted as if it was no big deal. When I asked to see the cameras to see the incident there became excuses on why I couldnt see the camera. Then they told me that the incident happened in the tiny portion of the room that was out of camera view. They even said that they couldnt guarantee that this type of incident wouldnt happen again!Now that the owner, [redacted], wants her money, she is calling me, leaving voicemails, and sending text messages to my phone talking about making a payment plan. I feel that my children were mistreated at her facility and being that I already paid $155 dollars, I dont feel that I should owe her anything.[redacted]Desired Settlement: I feel [redacted] & the Barrel of Monkeys daycare should either refund the money or just call it even.
