Mr*** called us on 5/16/to inquire about warranty on a starter his representative had purchased on 6/23/We asked him to bring the starter in for inspection as all starter motors, alternators, trim motors etc are to be inspected for water damage before a warranty exchange can be done
Upon inspection, Mr*** noticed that one of the bolts that hold the starter together was missingHe removed the other bolt and saw that it was badly rusted indication water intrusionHe removed the rear cover and evidence of water and corrosion could be seen especially on the lower brushesThese conditions would never have passed muster for warranty considerationWe showed Mr***'s representative the damage when he picked the starter motor up.Since we were not able to monitor the starter after it was purchased, we cannot tell you where the water came from, but it was definitely wet at some point.If you have any questions, please feel free to call meDeborah ***
