Antonio B who owns Barrett's construction did a good job overall in building & installing my mother's concrete front porch with treated wood railing in July & August 2019. I thank him for that. He did this at her address in Mansfield, Ohio.
However, he did not fully complete the job and related clean-up in spite of the fact that he was paid an extra $700 to do the following extra items:
-Replace 2x6 board that is the right hand rail of the front porch since it was installed incorrectly.
-Stain the wood railing with a color of my mother's choice
-Remove excess concrete that was dumped near in my mother's shrubs.
After several texts and phone calls, where promises to perform these above items were made by the owner, it has never happened. Now texts and phone messages are not being returned from the phone number provided for this business.
The actual address where this occurred can be provided upon request. I prefer to not include it in publicly posted information.
The business owner has talked to the consumer. They agreed for the business to finish the staining the deck. The business will be reaching out to the consumer to reschedule appointment due to the weather.
I am rejecting this response because:
The deck was installed in early August 2019 and should have been stained before last winter. Additionally, there were some other minor issues with the job that we asked the business to respond to. The business had not responded to our previous requests to stain the deck or address these other issues from November 2019 through April 2019. They gave us no response to our requests made last November until April 2020. Additionally, my mother had previously paid the business to stain the deck and resolve these other issues.
Due to this, we seriously doubt that this business plans to address our issues or stain the deck railing soon. We are planning to stain it ourselves soon since the wood has been exposed to the weather for too long.
We do thank for the business for the nice job they did overall, however, the finish of the job and related communications did not work out very well.
