Will not repair gate that blows open. Poor craftsmanship
*** said he would come and fix the gate post. The bolt was stripped and the post would move allowing the gate to blow open. We made multiple appointments where *** said he was coming to repair the gate. Everytime he wouldn't show.
I would like a gate that doesn't blow open. I have three little dogs. I want two more bolts in the post to make sure it is secure. Either *** can do it or I can have someone else do it and bill Barrier, I'm not sure what to do.
On Sept. 19th, 2017 our neighbor hired Barrier Fence and Deck to construct a fence between our house and his, and for him on the other side. We had asked the contractor to put in a gate, between our house and our neighbor's on one side and to close the other side off of our property. However, after the fence was built, before the gate was made or put on, we realized that the entrance-which is 0.67 meters in width-was too small to use as an entrance. The contractor, after being the business for over 15 years, should have let us know that this is not a good idea since it will be a lot smaller entrance once the wood is installed. Therefore, we contracted the contractor by phone, and e-mail to cancel the construction of the gate, to leave this side open and to put a gate on the other side instead, since this would become our principal entrance. We received an e-mail stating the gate had already been made and that we would have to talk to the contractor on site. Thus, I left my phone number and e-mail for the contractor to contact me so we could discuss the modifications further, and we were not contacted. When we arrived home, the contractor had not completed any of the work. The gate was lying on the ground and on the other side, there is one beam-that's it-standing there. The contractor was in a fit of rage over the fact that we did not want the gate that he had made, told us that it wasn't worth his effort to finish the job and told us that we inherited a free gate. He then proceeded to storm off our property. My husband followed up with a phone call and was told that they would look into it and call us back. They never did. I also e-mailed the company asking them to finish the job and they refused. Now we have received an invoice for $203.40 for the work. We have also received e-mails harassing us to pay, and have threatened us that they are going to submit this to a collection agency, which will affect our credit rating, if we don't pay.

Billing Adjustment We do not want this company to finish the job. The contractor (who is the owner of the company) is explosive and we do not want him anywhere near our property or anywhere around our children. We do not want to pay for the work: it was not done the way we wanted, and it was not completed.
