I am rejecting this response because: I received an estimate of services upon arrival for the initial exam. After blood tests had been done the Doctor let me know what my cat had was treatable and would be treated with penicillin, a thyroid medication, and Potassium. I was told he would need to come back for a follow up visit to check his thyroid levels in two weeks. When checking out the bill was over $400.00. I was never told there would be a charge for the follow up but after the follow up visit I was charged almost $200.00 which was not reveled at any time prior. I was NOT told there would be follow up visits for the thyroid medication every 6 months costing approimately $200.00 each visit. I was given that information in a phone call from the Doctor after the follow up visit.   They were NOT clear about their pricing. They WERE aware of financial issues as I had asked about the medications.This is a 15 year old cat. Had I known this was not a simple fix and there was going to be ongoing costs including the initial follow up cost, I would have chosen to put my cat down initially as he was very sick. My daughter was with me during the initial visit. She told me  shealso noticed they were not clear about their pricing. She has a cat who had been in prior. She let me know she was given pricing every step of the way. Because I was given pricing upon arrival of the initial visit I thought that would be their practice throughout.After submitting this complaint I received a call from a woman at Barrington Veterinary saying they do not refund for services. She also said I could go ahead and put my cat down or if I chose to continue the treatment just have lab tests done to save money. The lab tests would cost close to $125.00. This is not the point. I was not at any point during the initial visit, made aware of the costs of the initial follow up nor any ongoing costs. I  was not made aware of ongoing costs therefor I am asking to be refunded for all costs after the initial payment made. All costs were noted in the initial complaint.
