Review: Respected Sir/Madam, A flaw in the Barron's "New GRE 19th Edition" book (ISBN 978-1-4380-7078-0) has caused me to lose upto 10 percentile in my Quantitative GRE exam, taken on ** August 2013. The portion missing is "Standard Deviations". One can clearly note, that this portion is stated as prt of the syllabus in the ETS website: Data analysis topics include basic descriptive statistics, such as mean, median, mode, range, standard deviation Link: [redacted] Your book claims on the back cover, that "This is the only book I will need to do well in the GRE. This claim has been proven false, as I faced multiple questions related to a topic which I hadnt ended up studying as I believed this book's claim to be true, which it is is not.Desired Settlement: Because of this oversight to include a small topic in the Barron's GRE book, I have suffered a loss which keeps me away from my dream university, or forces me to invest money in: 1. another GRE exam (185$) + associated preparation/travel/logistics expenses 2. another publisher's book Barron's should support me for item #1.

I want the firm to provide expenses for me to sit in the GRE examination again. The fee alone is $185.

Besides this, there will be logistical/effort costs as I'll need to study again and travel to an exam location, but I am not clear how to quantify that.

Review: I purchased the Barron's GRE iPad app to study for the GRE. I paid $49.99 to upgrade the application so that I may access all of the content that they had available. My account was charged, but I only received access to the content for about 3-5 days. I called the customer service line, but it is in India and they do not handle technical support nor refunds. I emailed the company using the "Contact Us" feature on their website, but the only response I received was: "

"Your request (#[redacted]) has been updated. Reply to this email or follow the link below:

Please be patient. We are trying to resolve this issue.

Thanks

Sent from my iPad"

I emailed them back a few days later saying that I am still not receiving access to the content, but have not received a response. It has been about 10 days now.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of $49.99. Their product has not worked, and I have also spent quite a bit of time trying to resolve this issue.

At this time, I have not been contacted by Barron's Educational Series, Inc. regarding complaint ID [redacted].

Sincerely,

Review: I recently ordered a GRE online test prep program from Barron's Test Prep. When I ordered, I saw a 3-day refund guarantee on the website. This refund was also mentioned in the email receipt I received, but there was no instruction on the email or anywhere on the website on how to get this refund. I ordered it on 8/**/2014, and I wanted to return it on 8/**/2014. I replied to the initial email I was sent asking how to get a refund, but got no reply. The same day, I also sent out message/service request to the support team on their website and received no response. Later this day I also called the customer service line with the number given to me on the invoice. This line led me to voice automation which then linked to customer service-- this line rang indefinitely. The next day, 8/**, I sent out a message on the Barron's online chat box but also received no response. It appears that this online support always shows as "Offline" and that there are never active representatives. I checked this multiple times.

Seeing this, I checked online again for a different phone number, only to find a support phone number in Bangalore, India. This out of country phone number was one I couldn't call for obvious reasons. I then saw a link to [redacted] on their website. Naturally, I thought reaching out on social media would be an option, but these sites have not had any activity since August of last year.Desired Settlement: The website shows a 3-day money back guarantee with purchase, and the email receipt notes "if a refund is required, it will be issued in the purchase currency for the amount of the original charge." I want this statement to be honored and wish to get a full $99 refund debited back into my account.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved. The money has been refunded.

Thank you!
