Review: We received an invoice in March 2013 from Dr. Ekdom's office requesting additional payment for medical services (i) rendered in January of 2009, almost four and a half years ago, and (ii) that were paid in full at the time of our visit (a total of $975). The invoice received in March 2013 had $2,145 of additional charges. We promptly responded and called the office and sent the Doctor notice that our bill was paid in full at the time of our visit and we did not know what these new charges were. We received another bill in April of 2013 stating that we are past due. I immediately called Dr. Ekdom's office and spoke with [redacted] - who is in charge of billing, and asked her about the bill, which included a new amount of $2,145 that was never communicated with us at the time of service in January of 2009. [redacted] simply repeated that we owed the money, but could not explain the origin of the new charges. Dr. Ekdom's office never communicated with us , at the time of service, that this new, additional amount of $2.145 would ever be charged or that we owe any additional money beyond the $975 that we paid at the time the services were rendered, over 4 years ago. The contract with Dr. Ekdom was dated January 01,2008, and as a result the statute of limitation for billing has elapsed. I have tried on a number of occasion to contact others at Dr. Ekdom's office in order to discuss this matter, as [redacted] refused to have a conversation with us. I have also left a message for Dr. Ekdom with [redacted] in his office, but have never received a call back. I also sent Dr. Ekdom a letter via FedEx disputing the charge on May 20, 2013 but our letter also has been ignored. Please note that the address we have for Dr. Ekdom is 3040 Williams Drive, Suite 402, Fairfax VA 22031 - which is the same as the address on his invoice to us, but different than the address in your system.Desired Settlement: Our desired outcome is for Dr. Ekdom to stop contacting us and to remove the balance owed of $2,145 and close out our account.
