Basement De-Watering Systems Reviews (11)

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me The check was received on July 7th, and has cleared Regards, [redacted]

Revdex.com spoke to Steve at business and the following was relayed: We went out there and looked at the consumer's roofThe seams were busted on the roofThis is likely due from the winterWe put a coating on the roof, we did not fix the roofThis is not our issue to repairThis was explained to the consumer, she needs a new roof

Revdex.com spoke to Steve at business and the following was relayed: This was fixed approximately two weeks ago, it is related to a railing issue that is not related to work done to the roof

Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 5, 2016/10/21) */ On July 24, 2015, Basement Dewatering was instructed by the homeowner to eliminate seepage emanating from the perimeter of the basement where the foundation wall and floor meetOn July 30, 2015, Basement Dewatering performed the installation of the waterproofing system based on the original bidAt this time, the homeowner gave no indication that some of the floor cracks present were leaking so they were not bid and were not sealedBasement Dewatering had not received any calls from the homeowner until September 29, This is when Basement Dewatering was informed by the homeowners of floor cracks which was beyond the system leakingWe then presented a bid on the new workThe homeowners needed to discuss itAfter discussing it, the homeowner called us back on the very same day that they initiated the first phone call since the system had been installedThe homeowner told us she thought it should be covered under the warrantyWe explained that this was beyond the original bidIf we had originally known about the floor cracks, the cost would've been added to the original bid and the floor cracks would have been taken care of on July 30, when the system was installedBasement Dewatering stands by its contracts and warrantyHowever, this area was not part of the original contract and it therefore requires a new bid Initial Consumer Rebuttal / [redacted] (3000, 7, 2016/10/24) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Our biggest dispute is in the fact that this company was told about the cracks! They keep stating they didn't knowThose cracks have always been a problemThey were even visible when your workers came out and installed your systemThey should NEVER have been ignoredThere was NO CARPET COVERING any of the cracksEven IF we had not told your company wouldn't a reasonable contractor ASK? I am not accepting the fact that this company is acting like they didn't know about the cracks!! Why would you install a system and IGNORE any other areas where water could potentially enter the home?

Basement De-Watering Systems INChas been installing waterproofing systems since Many of these systems require the installation of a sump pump to allow it to drainSince we do not build sump pumps, we buy them in bulk directly from the manufacturerThe Sump pumps that Basement De-Watering Systems purchase are high capacity, commercial grade, brand new pumpsThese pumps are warrantied through the manufacturer, with a manufacturer’s warrantyIf the pump fails during the warranty period, Basement De-Watering replaces the failed pump with a brand new high capacity commercial grade sump pumpThat pump comes with its brand new manufacture warrantyWhen this occurs Basement De-Watering then contacts the original pump manufacturer, and is reimbursed for the cost of the new pump they installedThis is a standard practice in the plumbing and waterproofing industry Basement De-Watering Systems, INCdo not rebuild pump motors, nor do we have the capability to do soWe have never purchased, sold, or installed rebuilt pumps Where MrDale came up with the idea that the pump installed was a rebuilt pump is a mystery to usSince first installing out system in MrDale’s home in 2007, we have had several conversations with him by phone and in written correspondenceDuring that time he never mentioned anything about having a rebuilt pump installedIf he would have asked about a rebuilt pump, we would have explained to him that every pump we install is brand newThe first time that we even heard of MrDale’s claim of a rebuilt pump motor was in this complaint Sump Pump manufacturer warranties and waterproofing system warranties exclude damage to structure and personal propertyCoverage for this type of loss is covered by homeowners insurance under the “BaSewer & Sump Pump Endorsement”It is MrDale’s responsibility to make sure that his structure and personal property is properly insured
