We initiated our contact with MrScott Williams of BRE approximately October MrWilliams was faithful and prompt in keeping his appointments and he carried out an exhaustive onsite analysis of our impending project Subsequently Scott brought in an experienced engineer to review the necessary technical issues We received a very competitive and detailed bid covering the project, which we accepted without a down payment The basement of our century old farm house had a highly compromised, piecemeal installed concrete floor and by-in-large concrete block walls While the basement walls were relatively sound, the project required devising a method for draining ground water seepage within the wall blocks and infusion through the highly-deteriorated floor Any significant precipitation event resulted in up to 6" of standing water Moreover, wooden support beams supporting the 2- story house were badly deteriorated from water action and needed replacement
MrWilliams and his crew initiated the remediation of our problem the last week of March 2016, which in addition to removing the old floor, also involved extracting through a basement sidewall a very large pressure tank from an ancient water service We had just prior to this point contracted with a local plumber/heating service to temporarily remove our furnace and hot water systems It was an extremely difficult project due to a continuing infusion of ground water and very below temperatures BRE completed the project on schedule with installation of appropriate drainage systems, sump pumps, and installed new basement windows where required The new concrete floor and covered foundation walls have shown not the slightest infusion of water and the entire basement is now at a very stable level of low humidity We subsequently reinstalled the heating and water utilities and finished off the basement so that it is a very nice livable area
