[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the responseIf no reason is received your complaint will be closed Administratively Resolved] Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: The "Business" offered nothing new from its previous response It's argument, succinctly stated, is : 1) We really tried 2) We couldn't do it 3) We cleaned up and left 4) Our contract allows us to do so 5) We did not charge the customer, and 6) The customer suffered no harm or damage The author of the response was not at my house He knows NOTHING of the condition of my house before or after his company came His three men left for over an hour and a half to obtain the air compressor One man then left for over an hour to return the air compressor The men indicated to me that they "got to dirt" in the area in which they were jackhammering for the sump pump Paragraph of the contract does allow for the cancellation of the contract if "upon opening of the floor [should] conditions exist which would prevent the installation, (sic) of a sub-floor system." Nothing prevented the installation of the system It was simply too difficult for the unskilled individuals to do so with ineffective equipment The workman admitted that "It would take a week to get through the floor and if we can't do it, no one can." The abandonment of the job and the cancellation of the contract had nothing to do with "conditions that exist which would prevent the installation" of the system It was that the job would take much longer than the estimate that they would be in and out of my house in the same dayAdditionally, if the determination was made that the floor could not be penetrated, why did they jackhammer a hole for the sump pump and then a trench leading out from the sump pump hole and then along the perimeter of the exterior wall? If the floor could not be penetrated, why did they continue to damage the floor by breaking into it in several other areas? If the floor had not been penetrated, why would it be necessary to re-cement such? The person cementing took approximately two hours to re-cement "non-penetrated" areas None of the company's arguments make any senseAdditionally, the conclusion of the author of the response that no structural compromises were made to the foundation is without meritHe was never in my home, either before or after their destruction of itI have pictures that show the areas that werepenetratednow have standing water or visibly damp spots surrounding suchThey were not there before Basements Love Us came to my home and destroyed it and left I have estimates from two more companies who came to my house to assess the situation and to provide estimates for the correction of the mess left by Basements Love Us I fully disclosed what happened last week to each company Both estimators assured me that their company could install a water remediation system One estimate was comparable to the originally quoted price by MrD [redacted] (Basements Love Us) The other was for a thousand dollars more, but that company wanted to disconnect and reconnect the hot water heater, which is additional work than that for which I entered into a contract with Basements Love UsI realize and quite frankly, fear, that the two new salesmen are giving "just more sales' talk" to get the job I have been researching companies in which the person providing the estimate will also be one of the people coming to the job site, but those companies are difficult to findMy basement is still a mess We are unable to get to the washer and dryer because of all the stuff that Basements Love Us put in front of such Because the cement is still not dry, over a week later, we cannot put anything back on the side of the basement that Basements Love Us damaged If the areas that they jackhammered could not have any damage, why is it that the cement will not dry? There is subsurface water coming up in those areas that did not permeate the floor before That is the reason the cement is not dryingAdditionally, the workman who informed me that they were abandoning the job told me that Shawn would be contacting me the following day to discuss what else could be done, such as installing a sump near the original wet area of the basement I told that individual that ironically that is what I wanted originally, but their salesman indicated that the correct "fix" would involve the installation of a water remediation system along the front wall of my home with the sump in the opposite corner from the wet area I accepted his expertise, and now am paying for it Regards, [redacted]

We discovered that the home we had just purchased had a major foundation problem that posed a significant safety risk to our familyThe foundation problem was not disclosed by the previous homeowner, nor was it discovered by our home inspector We secured estimates from a number of companies, but felt most comfortable with Basements Love Us This company was very patient as we tried to come to terms with the unpleasantness of our situation and figure out the best way to proceedThey assisted us throughout the entire process and were quick to provide updates and answer any questions we hadThe crew was always friendly and professional despite the cold, wet weather conditions they faced throughout the projectWe are thankful to have found this company and we can sleep at night knowing that our home is safe again

I would highly recommend Basements are us for mold remediation and basement water managementMy sales person was very helpful, educating me first on mold and mold remediation and then later on water managementHe explained not only the details of the job, but also the contingency plans if they ran into different road blocksI knew all the costs up front and the price was exactly as expectedThe day of the installation the two person crew showed up early and finished ahead of scheduleThey too explained the work that had been done in detail making sure I was comfortable with the work performed They made sure my home was left in the condition they left itThank you!

To Whom It May Concern: Again to reiterate, We did not collect any funds from this customer and made every effort with an electrical jackhammer and air compressor which was rented at no charge to the customer to try and complete the scope of work Unfortunately, we were not able to complete the job and advised the customer after making every good faith effort to do soAs per our fully executed legal contract #7, the company reserves the right to cancel this contract upon the opening of the floor should conditions exist which would prevent the installation of a sub-floor system Since the jack hammer did not penetrate through the concrete slab, there would be no new water sourcesDrilling a hole during inspection, is not the Standard Business practice for this industry. We removed all the gravel, sand, and debris from the job siteWe acknowledge and understand the customer's frustration, however in this case it could not be avoided. We rarely experience this type of problem, however, in this case the job could not be completed and they can feel free to contact another company and the outcome will remain the samePlease see the enclosed letter indicating that we are sending this matter to our attorney which was faxed and emailed to the customer We will not be responding to this matter any furtherBasements Love Us, Inc
