Bash Auto Repair Reviews (4)

Dear Representative of the Revdex.com;
We at Bash Auto Repair do not take advantage of any Customer. We want to let
the customer know that we are not going to respond any further to these
Complaints, It is their right to take advantage of the court system if they feel it is.

This is our response to the complaint above. The customer called on 03/11/14, to schedule appt. for State Inspection and oil change. She dropped the car off that following morning on 03/12/14. We verified we had the appropriate documents for the vehicle and...

proceeded with the inspection. We brought the car in and hooked it up to our Emissions analyzer and ran the Emissions test and the car passed the first part of the inspection process. Then we put the car up on rack to check components for the State Inspection, we found the exhaust flex pipe and gasket was leaking, front left axle shaft was broken, front right sway bar link was broken and front left marker light bulb needed replaced, everything else looked fine and all tires measurements were passing. We called customer to go over an estimate for the parts, labor, state inspection fees and the oil change and the customer agreed to the:
estimate cost of $295.00 parts + $165.00 labor + tax $32.20 =
$492.20 total cost
and wanted the work completed, so we did the repairs. Customer picked the car up the same day, with no complaints about anything,
after 2 days customer called again, customer said someone busted her passenger mirror and ask if we could replace it and also said the car wouldn't start that morning and complained that the temperature gauge was fluctuating, so we told customer to have car towed in, and we would check the car. We checked the car again and diagnosed that the coolant temperature sensor was not working and the starter was not working, and so we again called customer to go over estimate for parts and labor for a used passenger mirror, coolant temp, sensor and starter, again customer agreed to the:
estimate cost of $260.00 parts + $120.00 labor + $26,60 tax =
$406.60 total
and we completed the work the same day and everything was working fine and customer again picked up car. After a couple more days customer calls again and said her car was not starting, again we said to have the car towed in, customer said oh, it's starting right now can I drive it in, and we said yes bring it in. Customer brought car back in and had a friend and child with her, customer said her friend was going to mechanic school, customers friend said to me, [redacted] shop manager, that she didn't believe we changed anything on her car, and wanted proof, so we again put the car on rack and lifted car in front of customer and friend to show them exactly the new parts we changed and showed them the old parts that we had removed, and they proceeded to say, oh I'm sorry, I don't know you and I wanted to see them with my own eyes and customer had taken picture with her camera phone, while the car was still on the lift, they apologized again after they verified the parts were all new, and seemed satisfied with us verifying what we said we did. Then again the car had a problem starting while it was here in the shop and the mechanic put a electrical tester on the park/neutral safety switch and it showed the component was not working, so we told customer to get part and we did install the park/neutral safety switch for them for a total cost of $20.00 and the
car started fine. The car was shut off and started numerous times (16 times) and started everytime and the customer left the shop. On 03/31/14 customers brother called and he asked for a refund because they spent so much, and the car is still not starting he said, that's what they claim-we ask him again to bring the car in so we can look at it again and haven't heard back from them until we got this Revdex.com complaint letter.  I would like to mention also that the customer did tell us that this car sat for a long time, and I would like to mention that parts do corrode when a vehicle sets for periods of time.
We take pride in our work at Bash Auto Repair and we charge fair prices for our work also, this is the first time we had a complaint of this nature. Thank you for your time and attention regarding this matter.
Best Regards

The mechanics response was not at all truthful. His shop needs to be investigated because it is certified and people are trusting their cars with him. I had my car looked a few months before by another mechanic to see what was all needed done and he can verify that my tires were bad and he informed me that my mirror needed fix to past along with others things that I told bash auto about. Bash auto passed car with bad tires and my right mirror off and I asked myself why I didn't need all that cause I was told I did need it. Plus, address the fact that he had a uncertified mechanic working on my car who never truly found probably and was just doing work for me to continue paying them. I am still out of car cause it never got fixed and have been off of work cause I have no way to get there at 6am in the morning. I never car was sitting for a long time I said three weeks at the most and I started everyday cause it was cikd and allowed it to warm up to make sure I didn't have problems when it came time to get it fixed. He also stated that I was bringing my car back every couple of days which was another lie and my receipt from the work that was completed shows the dates on them and will that came four days in a row. After they completed the work they say they did I would call hours later because my car was not starting again. His response was a complete lie and if this situation is investigated that could be proven by many witnesses and evidence. Bash Auto to advantage and thought that they were going to continue to take advantage of me and that was not right. I would like to receive a refund for the work that was done after the inspection because that problem was never and I am still dealing with the problem of NY car not starting. Please! Thank you for your time and consideration.

Review: I took my car to this shop to inspection. The car needed an axle, stabilizer pin, tires(Which he passed without me getting) oil change, flex pipe, and gasket. The next day my car did not start and I took it back. He then told me I needed a starter. Hours after leaving the shop it was not starting and doing the same thing before. He then said it needed a neutral safety switch and hours later my car would not start again. I paid him about $1000 and I left with a problem I didn't have coming in.... The shop is certified but the mechanic working on my car was not certified. His argument was he have been working on cars for years. I believe he was guessing what was wrong and not truly looking into the problem because he was not experienced. The situation was unfair and I would like a refund for what was done to my after it would not start cause I still have the same problem.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund for what was done to my car after it would not start cause I still have the same problem and they didn't fix the problem.
