I am rejecting this response because:See attachment sent via e-mail on 8/17/to *** ***
Sincerely,
*** ***August 17, 2017Revdex.com ID# ***Revdex.comPO Box 1000, DuPont, WA 98327 206-431-Extension ***Dear *** ***:As I was unable to complete my response on the Revdex.com e-mail sent yesterday, I hope this response will be acceptable. The memorial for our mechanic and very good friend was held on August 12, Lee N*** was the one who recommended that I get the car out of Basolo Body Shop as quickly as possibleThe reason for this was that Shawn had the car for months and did only hours of work on the car during that timeLee was very concerned that I would pass away long before Shawn was able to complete itThe car was stuck back in a corner of Shawn’s shop with no evidence that it had been worked on for some time I so wanted Lee to survive long enough to be able to drive the car, but it was not to be I am hoping that I will be able to drive it before I pass away. I had a major heart attack on August 5, 2014, that I was told I should never have survivedI have Congestive Heart Failure and I have been blessed with these extra years Chemicals in Viet Nam may have been the culprit I am not sure what Shawn is saying against Joe’s employee, Wayne, but it appears to be and harassmentI was able to look at the car in June and from what I saw, the work done by Basolo Auto Body appeared to me to be substandardPer Shawn’s July 4, e-mail, “The hood and truck lid were with the sand blaster when you wanted to move the carI didn’t want to leave them raw so I coated them with a direct to metal product PORIt’s not what I would normally put on a part before doing my body work but it was what I had that was quick and inexpensive to protect the parts.” I used PORon non-exposed area of the Galaxie, but would never use in on exposed areas that needed to be primed Shawn, in using PORon the hood and trunk resulted in extra time and money to correct, as it would have to be sanded off and primed correctly.I should add that I did a frame up restoration on the car, which included pulling the frame from the carI sandblasted the frame and had it powder coated In SpokaneI then built the car up to where it is today with all new partsMy mechanic did all the work on the engine and rear axleAnother friend and I modified and installed a stronger four speed transmissionAfter doing all the re-built work on the car, I expected better workmanship from Basolo Body Shop. I have reviewed pictures of the car following my June visit and can see the improvement in the level of work being done by Mountain States Collision, Incin Missoula, MT It was a good move to take the car over to Mountain States Collision, Inc Shawn never did discuss with me about not having a deadline to finish the carI was the one suggesting that the car could be worked on during the winter months as a fill in as I did not want to transport the car to Arizona during the winter monthsShawn stated in a July 4, e-mail to me, “I took on a job that I didn’t want to do in the first place and that is the only bad business decision made here.” “You obviously don’t know much about auto body work so they can tell you anything and you would take their word over mine.” I am not sure why he made the last commentI was in South Viet Nam twice with Marine Corps helicoptersI was a structural mechanic that repaired aircraft that was damaged by the enemyI did total structural repairs and was the person that did all the painting on the helicoptersThat included painting so as to take them into South Viet Nam during the war environment and then re-paint them once we left South Viet Nam. Also per Shawn’s July 4, e-mail, “I never promised a completion date from the very beginning and I am the bad guy? I was very clear that it was something I would take on but was not giving a completion dateI said I would try to complete it within a year.” “Previously the car sat for years under a blue tarp outside in the weather never being worked on, by a “family relative” but sat inside my shop for months.” This comment is a statement as the car never did sit outside in the weather for yearsIt sat one fall and winter waiting for a body shop to take it to after being transported from Washington State to Missoula, MTThe move was necessary due to the selling of our Washington State property and move to Arizona.I don’t feel Shawn is being entirely truthfulI wish he would not have agreed to take the car into his shop, especially since he did not want to do it in the first placeMy career after the Marine Corp was primarily in auditingDuring those years I was a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor, and Certified Fraud Examiner which aided in being able to understand people and their behaviorWhen I first met Shawn, I was concerned about his demeanor, which I felt bordered on arroganceHopefully, he doesn’t come across to his clients as such I am not seeking any monetary reimbursementI am just disappointed that Shawn appears to be attempting to cause turmoil for employees at Mountain States CollisionI am asking that he cease this behavior as it appears to be unwarranted harassment From what I can read from the Revdex.com message to me from Shawn and Shawn’s e-mails to me is that Shawn is the problem and not employees at Mountain StatesThe employees are doing a wonderful job on the car and should be left alone so they can complete their work in peace. Thank you for your time in this matter. Sincerely,*** ***

I am writing in response to your client's complaint to the Revdex.com ID#[redacted].  On 8/15/2017 I spoke to, Joe, the owner of the body shop where the car is currently located and being worked on.  We spoke specifically about the allegations presented by your client regarding the...

Galaxie.   This was news to Joe.  His employee knows your client and the employee is doing the work on the car at his shop.  Joe informed me that the information being relayed to your client by his employee is incorrect and he would be addressing the issue with the employee.  I had the car at my body shop for 14 months.  However, when I agreed to work on the car I was very clear with your client that a deadline was not possible and he was in agreement with that.  Restoration work is a long process and not profitable like the everyday collision work.  As I understand for other shops, as well as mine, restoration work is fill-in work when it's slow and I, thankfully, have been very busy.  I charged for 40 hours of labor on this car and had much more than this but wasn't wanting to be petty about charging him since it wasn't being finished at my shop.  I wanted to finish what I had started but your client had informed me that he had some health issues and wasn't sure if the car would be finished before the inevitable happens.  I told him that I was sorry for the health issue but could not direct my attention to his project.  That is when he mentioned taking the car to another shop to have it finished.  The allegations made toward me and my business are slanderous and unfortunate.  If you need further information, I would be happy to provide you with contact information for Joe, owner of other body shop as well as my attorney.                             Shawn B[redacted]                            406-721-7700
