We had a home inspection completed on our house we moved into weeks agoThe inspection states "sump-pump appears serviceable", the inspector failed to notice that the pump was not plugged in and there was no plug located any where near the pumpLast week during a storm several areas in the house started to flood from under the wood floorsWhen the sump-pump was checked it was noted to not be plugged in and no power source, an extension cord was ran ft from the garage to plug in the pumpOnce done the house stopped floodingWe believe this issue was caused by negligence on the side of the inspector and we were not given a chance to ask for a plug to be placed or to know that it was not plugged inWe believe due to the inspector negligence the company should cover all bills incurred due to fixing damage from flood and the cost of placing a outlet in that areaWe did not place a warranty claims as this does not fit their limited warranty coverage and we were told this We w
I bought a home in April 2015, closed in July and moved into it Sept ACSI was the home inspector company my Home loan company usedAfter moving in I discovered the previous owners had spray painted the entire house, including at the domes for the sprinklers and the smoke alarmsWhen I had the fire department come out to do an inspection they discovered this and told me this wasn't not up to code They advised me the sprinklers would not go off if the dome was painted because the paint would cause it not to detect If my home would have had a fire the insurance comoany would not cover it because any paint on those domes is no longer covered by insuranceSame for the smoke alarmsI called the company ACSI and after a few attempts they came out , they did replace a few of the smoke detectors but they did not replace the domesBecause of the cost I could not do it right away but I just got done with a small home remodel and they made me buy all new domes because it was a danger having the painted onesThis cost me $not including installationOn the packaging it states" do not paint" I advised ACSI of this and heard nothingBottom line is, they should have reported this on the home inspection, I never knew this was a danger , I would have had the sellers p at for this if I would have knownI am reporung this in hopes they pay closer attention to their inspections and don't let this happen to anyone else
We sold our home in Phoenix at the end of This company was chosen by the purchasers for the inspectionOver the course of many years, we have bought and sold many homes, but this inspection was by far the worst we have experiencedThe inspector noted numerous so-called defects, when in reality they weren't defects at allThere were issues in regards to GFI's, he stated there weren't any, when they were clearly visibleThe inspector also broke a metal outdoor outlet cover while doing his inspectionHe n oted water condensation inside several windows, it was clearly dust from the mountain in the back yard and was removed by cleaning windowsThere are entirely too many issues to list, but this is just a sample of what we experiencedObviously, this inspector had no clue what he was doingThe home was built in 1988, and yet the inspector treated our house as if it was a new build and proceeded to tag us on issues that he deemed were code violations due to new building codesUnreal! This was a company move and due to the process, we had to have professional inspections done on our home prior to his visit through our relo company-stucco, pool and termiteThis inept so-called inspector proceeded to give his findings in direct contradiction to the professional inspections that were doneUnbelievableDon't ever let this company do your inspection!!!!!!
