Most unprofessional company I have ever encounteredCustomer hold times are well over minutes when calling about trash not being picked upThis company took over Eastern Shore Waste and Disposal, a company that had great customer serviceWhen you called them, you were taken care of promptlyThat is not the case with BatesWhen you call them, (if they even answer the phone) you get passed around and no matter who they transfer the call to, you are told to leave a message and that someone would call you backAfter doing that several times without a call back, I quickly learned that they simply do not return callsThis is not a business that anyone would want to deal withThe incompetence in the main Bladensburg office is simply overwhelming

Their truck drives way to fast down a dirt lane, they back up driving on people's property Trash is left on the ground after they empty receptaclesWhen the driver was asked to slow down, his response was to laugh and state he didn't care

Bates trash service is the worst thing that could have every happened to Prince Georges CountyThe county should be a lot more particular who they give contracts toI live in the Vista Gardens Community in Bowie and I am the HOA president and I have contact bates trash every week about the service the company provides our communityThey don't show up, they leave trash behind that was not there before they cameThey lie about coming and worst of all even when you send them pictures which I do every week they make excuses and the worst thing of all is that after meeting with Rico and one of the owner's from bates he was more interested in telling me that I should support them because he is a black owned companyWell MrBates, I am a black woman and I don't care if your company is red , green , black or yellow do with the county is paying you for , that is to pick up trash, provide customer service and you are doing none of thoseYou should be a shamed of your self trying to play the race card instead of taking responsibility for your companyYou are disgrace to your professional and should be thrown out with the trash, that is if you can get your company to pick it up, Better yet, why don't you call waste management to get the job donepeople complain about this company don't let them get away with thisWe pay taxes we deserve better than thisI give them an F rating it seems to fit what kind of company they are black or white and they way they treat their customerCustomer service is everythingGet it togetherVista Gardens HOA

This company is incompetent, dishonest or both. They regularly miss curbside trash collections, make excuses for bad service and send inflated invoices out even when the entire years bill is paid in full and in advance. There is a reason why they have a D- rating on Revdex.com and numerous unresolved customer complaints. I have contacted customer service repeatedly and copied the owner/President of the company on all communications and yet their service is terrible. Stay far away from this rotten company.

Very disillusioned with this company. Unfortunately it took over for VHI Industries, a company we were happy with. Since then, Bates has billed us for a past-due balance which we don't owe, and threatened to refer it to collections if we don't pay. We sent their president a 2-pg. letter with copies of all our invoices showing we don't owe them the money and are awaiting a response. By the way, we sent a check for the past-due balance anyway, just to avoid a mark on our credit. Along with that we requested to cancel our service. We've also experienced missed trash/recycling pickups, sometimes for several consecutive weeks. Once after they missed a trash pick-up on Mon., we told the driver about it when he came to pick up recycling on Weds. He told us to throw the trash in with his recycling load, because, "it doesn't matter". They are awful. Please don't give them your business!

This issue continues!! Several calls to the customer service department and never a returned call. Now another bill with more past due notices when I have never missed a payment. A call with a voicemail to billing and no return call.

Review: I called the business to set up new trash removal service for my residence. They set me up, gave me a pick up date, told me when my cans would be delivered, and took my billing information. My credit card was charged right away. I then cancelled my current service. I was supposed to receive cans the Saturday before my first scheduled week of pick up. When the cans were not delivered, I called the company. After being on hold and bounced back and forth between people, I was told that they could not provide service to me. I explained that they already charged my card and that they provide service to the next further neighboring town. They go past my house to pick up in this community! They just told me they were sorry and could not help me. I find this poor customer service and to have this service lined up for a month and then not follow through with it was very upsetting.

They also did not hit the correct button when they were switching back and forth between calls, as when one worker thought she was talking to another about my service, she was really on my line!Desired Settlement: Know their routes and follow through with their service quotes and expectations.

Review: To whom it may concern,

On March 31,2014 Bates Trash Removal was performing there normal routine trash pick up in the alleyway, and suddenly the vehicle had a mechanical malfunction. The trash truck hydraulic hose broke, causing hydraulic fluid to spew profusely down the alleyway. A Bates spill truck and crew arrived approximately a hour or two after the spillage. The crew put down what looked to be kitty litter to absorb the fluid. I later called Bates Trash Removal and spoke to [redacted] (the dispatch) and informed him of the incident that occurred at my home. He asked me to e-mail him some photos, & I said,"Sure no problem." Several hours later [redacted] (the dispatch) e-mailed me and said," He forwarded the pictures to a supervisor ." After receiving the e-mail I contacted [redacted] (the dispatch) and asked him if he could clarify his e-mail response. He explained to me that his supervisors where very responsive people and the matter would be handled immediately . On the following day (April 1, 2014) I made a second call to Bates Trash removal and asked to speak to a supervisor . I spoke to a gentlemen by the name of [redacted] and he assured me that someone would be out to my home to address the situation before the end of business. On April 2,2014 I placed a third call to Bates Trash Removal and spoke to [redacted] (the dispatch) and informed him that I was going to fill a complaint with the county and the Revdex.com. He said," I will handle the situation personally." I hope by writing this letter we can resolve this matter. Thanks, [redacted]Desired Settlement: I would like for Bates Trash Removal to pressure wash the alleyway, concrete curbs, and any other effected areas .

Company workers will leave your trash if it's too much. If you know the workers they will pick it all up, if you don't your trash will stay. P,g county MD really needs to consider a new company.
