When the customer hired us to reglaze the tub I recommended the mat instead as the tub was in good condition except for the rusty stains on the bottom, so it was my sincere suggestion to save her money and try the mat insteadThe plastic mat is just a temporary solution to a problem tub, it is not
supposed to last a long time as a tub's surface and it's subject to staining because of it's non-slip texture, anyway to make a long story short she was not happy with it, she called and wanted to reglaze the tub anyway, so we agreed on a date at a reduced price (a credit for $the price of the mat and labor to install) , we couldn't fit her on our schedule and I ended up asking her if she wasn't happy I could give her money back, immediately she agreed, so soon after I emailed to her a settlement form for her to sign before issuing a refund check for the full amount of $120, all she had to do was agree to accept her refu nd check as full settlement with no further claims by signing that form also she failed to mentioned in her complain that I did offer such settlement and she never accepted it, I answer her email reply stating the same settlement offer but she mentioned that would be the last time she would communicate with us regarding the above issueI rarely have unhappy customers , two or complains in 30+ years, I don't like unhappy customers so I try to settle with them as soon as possible

Review: I hired the Bath Tub Doctor ([redacted]) to re-glaze my bathtub. He talked me into having a mat placed down instead. Skeptical that it would just look like a mat pasted in a tub, I asked him to send me a picture of what he meant. The picture he sent via email made it look like the bottom of the tub would have no defining lines, would be flush with the bottom of the tub - essentially looking like a regular tub bottom which wouldn't appear to have any work done on. The replacement bottom in the picture was actually the same shape as the entire tub bottom with a "cut-out" for the drain.

However, after he put the mat down, I saw it was just a plastic rectangular mat that, not only was glued down, but had black lines around the rim. And it is much smaller that the tub bottom. I pointed out the lines while he was still in my house and he said it was pencil lines and he would take them off. He didn't or couldn't get them all off. I assumed it would wash off with time but the lines remain obvious.

I was very unhappy with what he did but was prepared to live with it; but now after just a just couple of months, or less, of it being placed, the mat is more discolored than the bottom of the tub was before "hiding" it with the horribly-placed, too-small mat and now discolored mat – which was bought to hide a discolored bath tub bottom.

He charged $120 for a piece of plastic he glued to my tub. I've contacted him and he promised to fix it. We made two appointments and he failed to show up for either of them. He has said he will refund my money; but he never does.

Not only is he holding up my plans to do this bath tub repair; but he's made me put off getting a new bathtub door that goes in after the tub is re-glazed. He didn't even have the problem of removing our old door as my husband did it before he came. We are living with a horrible sticky shower curtain until we can get the tub re-glazed and then the tub door installed.Desired Settlement: I'm asking for my $120 refunded, as he promised, and the cost I might incur from the next "tub doctor" to remove the substandard piece of plastic he glued to my tub. He said all it takes is a hair dryer. But the man has lied to me so many times, I just don't believe anything he tells me any more.

Sincerely,

Orlando scheduled my first appointment for October **. He sent someone else to do the job. My husband pays him and he leaves. Terrible job. There was a big chip in the front of the tub and another small chip on the side which were never there before. The corking around the entire tub was still wet and sticky, AND has yet to dry (more than two weeks later). I called Orlando back and he schedules to come back at 3pm on 10/**, but no one shows. When I called him to find out where he was, he says he was there at 2pm but no one was home. The appointment was for 3 (which I noted immediately on my work calendar while on the phone with him). Orlando sets up another appointment for the following Monday (11/*) at 2pm and does not show up. When I call him 2 hours after his scheduled appointment time, he says..." [redacted]" He's already paid and doesn't care. If he doesn't make right by the end of the week, I will be seeking a full refund. This is the worst business person I ever met!
