Batson Accounting & Tax, P.A.

I used Batson Accounting for my 2009-2011 tax preparation. In 2012, I received a letter from the South Carolina Department of Revenue (SCDR) informing me that my 2010 State taxes were delinquent. That should not have been the case; I submitted all required documents to [redacted] (all correspondence with the firm was directly with [redacted]l) but he failed to submit my extension timely. This is all documented in a letter from[redacted] to SCDR. He assured me that I should not be liable for any outstanding monies, related fines or penalties, incurred. [Brief detour here: Batson's customer service is inexcusably poor. It took multiple repeat emails/calls to finally hear back from [redacted]. This was not some random anomaly; I have numerous email chains supporting this onerous and fastidious task of simply receiving a reply to my question.] Later in 2012, I received another letter from SCDR; this one informs me that a State tax lien has been placed against me. Since Nov 2012, I've sent in 7 unanswered emails. We're into the second quarter of 2013, yet my 2010 taxes are still outstanding. I am extremely displeased with this conduct. Such a lien will be on my credit report for 7-10 years. This is unacceptable, as I am not at fault. Be warned - stay away from Batson Accounting & Tax, P.A.!!!!!
