Review: As part of a routine dental checkup, dentist recommended cavity repair on 4 teeth. Front desk receptionist (which is in charge of all billing matters) REPEATEDLY INSISTED that my insurance plan (with annual quota of $1500.00) has sufficient funds to cover the insurance-covered portion (together with deep-cleaning performed in Q1), and my out-of-pocket costs for the 4 cavities would only amount to $230, which was paid on the spot on 1/** with [redacted] card ending with 2002.On a follow up visit on 3/**, the receptionist admitted they have miscalculated, and I owe an additional $150. I was threatened with referral to small claims court if it is not repaid by end of April. I paid the $150 over the phone on 4/** to avoid hassle.The receptionist insisted that all cavity repairs are voluntarily agreed by the client, and they carry no liability to THEIR OWN miscalculations of insurance payouts, but I would NOT have agreed to the 4th tooth if the calculations were accurate in the first place and I knew funds would be insufficient.This amounts to raising prices after services have been performed at previously agreed price.Desired Settlement: Since this is a calculation error by Battery Park Dental Group (B.P.D.G.), I request the extra $150 be refunded, and B.P.D.G. drop all claims to said amount, including but not limited to through courts, any legal channels, collection agencies, or reporting to credit bureaus.
