[redacted],We have received the requested information and approved a warranty replacement. Hello, Thank you for your feedback. We are an online battery distributor and have listed many different brands and models on our website. We have listed them for cross reference purposes so that people could search with the model number of the item they have and find a suitable replacement for...

it. That is why we have listed the Yuasa brand on our website- for cross reference purposes only. The titles of all of our listings indicate the batteries sold are a replacement for that brand and that we are selling an equivalent product. The batteries are made by the same quality standards and they have the same dimensions and specifications. This is also stated in the description just below the picture. Attached you can find screenshots from our website backing this. Also, we have stated there that if the customer requires a specific brand, they can call us before the order is placed and inquire about that particular brand availability. We understand that mistakes do happen when it comes to purchasing online which is why we offered 10% compensation even though the received item is performing properly and it is also warranted for 6 months. Please let us know if you have any other questions.Best regards.Max.

Thank you for contacting us. I apologize we did not respond to the complaint earlier. The past 2 months we were battling with internal issues that resonated across the board and inhibited us from being able to turn full attention to our customers. However, we did not purposefully ignore the order...

in question. Recently, we restored normal function and were able to communicate with the customer about the problem they experienced. The products that were bought are high rate specialty batteries that are used with [redacted] units in case of a power outage to back up connected equipment. They come with a 3 year pro rated warranty and a typical design life of up to 10 years in normal conditions. I am attaching to this email the warranty card for it and its specification sheet. Being a specialty battery, warranty claims against the product have to abide by specific clauses that are outlined in the card. We followed those clauses and requested specific information about the failure that took place. Namely, we requested service reports upon installation of the batteries, on the 6 and 12 month mark and upon failure. These are needed to determine if the environment the batteries were used in are not potentially hazardous and detrimental to their condition. The service reports would also reveal signs of potential failure down the road and if eliminated on time would prove to be a successful preventive maintenance action. Values like conductance and voltage levels of each battery are necessary to pinpoint problematic pieces. The customer experienced the failure 1 year and 9 months after the installation. When requested, they were not able to present the service reports in question to determine if the critical conditions explained above were met. It is unknown if the batteries were exposed to heat above the recommended 77 degrees ambient temperature. Operating at even a small difference of 10 degrees continuously even for couple of months would cause the batteries to fail and if the problem was with few of them, since they are all connected to one another, would transfer to the other batteries as well. Depending on their internal resistance, manual charging settings would have to be established in order not to input too much current which would cause overcharging resulting in excessive heating and eventually swelling as described by the customer. As per our warranty policy and the manufacturer's warranty card, without supportive evidence to prove a defect in the product at the appropriate time and without evidence of proper maintenance, the warranty claim cannot be approved. I can forward you our correspondence with the customer to confirm the above said. Please let me know if more information is needed. Thank you for your consideration. Response:

Dear Customer,

After we were contacted in regards to the issue with your battery, we requested voltage readings and the date code of the battery. The information you provided is that the battery reads 5.90volts and has a date code of [redacted]. The date code is to be read as August [redacted] of 2012. This must have been overlooked at the warehouse, as all products that are older than 10 to 12 months are put onto the scrap pile. Due to the low voltage and old date code we have issued full refund of your order, which should appear on your card within 24 hours.

It is unclear to us how the battery damaged the unit, as it provides lower voltage that it is supposed to. When a battery is installed properly and has low voltage, the most that could happen is that the application won't start. At this point, a full refund of your order is the best we can do. We do not beli[redacted] that our battery damaged the application.

On behalf of BatterySharks.com I would like to apologize for the caused inconvenience.

If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know.

Best regards,

Consumer

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

Company now admits that the battery should never have been sent, we provided all the info they asked for including electronic measurements, photos, and date codes and filled out warranty form...

Because battery was so old and was placed into our Vectorlight it damaged the charging circuit and not the unit is completely inoperable... this was a $100 Black and Decker device... We request reimbursement

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Sincerely,

Business

Response:

Dear Customer,

Thank you for your reply.

I wanted to mention that SLA batteries in general include protection to safeguard against malfunction. The most basic safety device in a battery is a fuse that opens on high current. With that being said, the battery did not have the chemical capability to operate. As mentioned previously, in this case the application wont even start. The reason behind the malfunction respectively becomes unclear as a dead battery wont behave in this way. If it short circuited, all the power would have unloaded in an instant and a lot of heat would have been produced which would have physical effect on it and it doesn't. This ties in with the fact that there was no power in the battery itself rendering it as an unlikely cause for the mishap.

We do apologize for not sending an item in a pristine condition. Warehouse mistakes occur even though the implemented strategies that limit similar occasions. That is why we feel that a full credit back on your account for what you paid for was a rightful decision. We won't be able to reimburse you for the electronic equipment though as the causes are unclear.

Thank you for your understanding.

Best Regards,

Do not order from this company. They sent me the wrong battery. They charge 15% restock fee and you have to pay for the shipping when you want a return. It's not possible for me to get a return because they never had the correct battery for my application. The customer service just laughed at me and hung up. I had to call them three times.

I must offer an apology the order took 17 days and I was upset BUT when I got the box it said Priority mail 3 days the [redacted] messed it up I left a bad review on the co. not there fault. next order went like clock work. If you need a battery you should check this co. out. They take care of business. [redacted]

Review: I ordered a Yuasa 12v battery from batterysharks.com a few days ago. And while the shipping was prompt, there's a big problem. They didn't send me a Yuasa battery. They sent me a Sigmas Tek battery. Which would be find if I ordered a Sigmas Tek battery. But I didn't. I ordered a Yuasa battery. The picture for the listing shows a Yuasa battery. The main title says "Yuasa battery." Everywhere in the description, it says "Yuasa." NO WHERE does it say "Sigmas Tek" or "offbrand" or anything along those lines. If I had known it was an off-brand, I would have bought an off-brand somewhere else for cheaper. But I chose batterysharks.com and paid the extra money just to have the peace of mind of having the actual Yuasa brand battery. When I received the battery today, I was shocked that it was not as described. So I called the customer service and said, "there must be some mistake." Instead of apologizing for misleading me with their advertising, [redacted] (the CSR's name) kept insisting that it was MY fault this happened. That I didn't read the fine print well enough. And that the listing did say "replacement" battery, so I should have known better. I told her I knew it was a "replacement battery" but not that it was a "replacement BRAND" battery. I assumed "replacement" meant it would not come with the wires/contacts/frame needed for hooking it up to the device. So, in that sense it would replace the original Yuasa battery. But it would still be a YUASA brand battery. When I asked her what they planned on doing to make it right, she said that I was welcome to ship it back to them for a refund, but that I would need to pay the shipping (which is not cheap for a battery of that size!) I really feel that batterysharks.com is purposefully misleading people into buying an off-brand battery, advertising it as an actual Yuasa brand battery. I definitely feel deceived and quite irritated to be spending my time on this. I was NOT happy with the response their customer service gave and I'd really like for this to be made right. Here is the listing, for your reference: [redacted]Desired Settlement: I would like to receive a full refund for the battery and would also like them to replace the picture and the description to accurately fit the product so as not to deceive others into buying this product.

Response:

Thank you very much for your feedback.

Review: Website clearly advertises "We would like to offer you a special 7% discount when you order motorcycle, ATV or snowmobile batteries by using the coupon code MOTO7. The offer is valid for all orders placed by the end of March 2014."

Those are the entire terms and conditions of the offer. However during checkout it would not give me this discount. In the order notes I noted this, and was still charged the full amount.

Also, their advertising says they will beat any price. But they did not, the price they charged me is not the lowest I can find online for the product they actually sent me.

Worst of all, the product I received was not what I ordered. As per my receipt, I purchased a "Power Sonic PS-12140 Battery (Replacement)". I clicked on add to cart next to a clear picture of a powersonic battery.

But I received an entirely different brand of battery with entirely different specifications. These Batteries perform very poorly in cold conditions like winter, I need to store my electric motorcycle at a metro location all day while at work and they are very cold and do not function properly to get me home at night. Powersonic batteries have specifications to be able to be charged and operated up to -20 degrees celcius. These do not seem to meet that specification. I store my bike in my shed where I run power to it so it can charge and not have a fire hazard to my house at nights, I do not have a garage so I have no room to house my scooter indoors when it is very cold outside.

I could have purchased other batteries much cheaper, but I ordered powersonic batteries for a reason.

I saw a similar complaint on the Revdex.com website about false advertising and they gave some response along the lines of that it states "The compatible replacement for Power Sonic PS-12140 rechargeable sealed lead acid battery meets or exceeds the OEM sla battery specifications. " and "The picture shown above is for illustration purposes only. "

This is highly misleading. Anyone who sees this webpage would say that it is clearly designed to be deceptive in this regard. Those statements are under a bold heading titled "What is the difference between F1 and F2 Terminals? ", it is not clear that this should apply to the clear title and photo of the product purchased, and it talks about all sorts of other things in a page full of text that seems mostly unrelated to the product being purchased. People do not read all sections of a webpage that do not seem to apply to the product. Also the broken english used like "illustration purposes" and "replacement" are taken out of context. If you read the whole webpage it looks like they just couldn't speak english, but obviously if the model number is in your cart you would expect that this is the model number you are getting.

Right now it is winter and I needed the correct battery for my electric motorcycle to get me to and from work each day, complaining about this is wasting my time, this is advertised as a replacement battery but this is now costing me time and delay every day when I have to walk home because my batteries were not replaced with the ones I ordered.

There was even a similar Revdex.com complaint before about such an issue and they claimed they would look into this, but the wording on the website was not changed. I think they are being intentionally misleading and deceptive because they have not changed it. Many sentences are not even proper english, which leads people to disregard them or interpret them as what one would think they should mean. Clearly if you put a product brand name and model number in the title, that's the title of the product.

Anybody who looks at this website after receiving the wrong product would see they are trying to be misleading with this. Powersonic batteries are blue, and almost every other battery manufacturer makes a black one. So your "illustrative" picture just happens to be of the wrong battery? The only thing this picture illustrates to me is deceptive trade practices.

I don't wish to allow such an action to go without complaints recorded.Desired Settlement: Send the powersonic batteries that were advertised and that I ordered with the 7% discount that was advertised. If they want these batteries back, pay for return shipping I will hassle with shipping them back.

OR Refund me money because I now have to deal with a product I didn't order and that I know will fail prematurely and is not the same spec as advertised (discharge current at -20 degrees C temperature range is NOT the same as the powersonic).

These batteries cost more to ship back than they are worth, so promises of a warranty that does not include shipping are worthless to me. But if they give me 50% discount I will also be satisfied that they are at least not making money off me with this deceptive advertising and although they have wasted much of my time with this I will say ok we can call it even.

Response:

Thank you

very much for contacting us.

First of

all I would like to apologize about any inconvenience caused.

My name

is Lora Miller and I am the Sales and Customer Service Manager. I am with Batterysharks.com since 2010 and

I am very disappointed that we were not able to meet your expectations and

serve your battery needs.

In Batterysharks.com defense I would

like to point out a couple of things:

1. Technical Specifications -

The replacement battery we sent can operate, can be charged and can be

discharged at the range of -20°C to +40°C. The technical data can be checked at the link

below:

http://sigmastekbattery.com/files/specsheets/SP12-15(T2).pdf

2. Coupon Code – The

promotion we currently have is valid only for Motorcycle, ATV and Snowmobile

Batteries. Unfortunately the model number PS-12140 (the one purchased from this

customer) is not listed under any if the above-mentioned categories. To check

the items included in this categories, please follow the links below:

http://www.batterysharks.com/Motorcycle-Batteries-s/439.htm

- the entire category;

http://www.batterysharks.com/category-s/440.htm

- by battery brand;

http://www.batterysharks.com/category-s/780.htm

- Power-Sonic replacement batteries.

This is

why the coupon code MOTO7 does not

work for the customer. I have attached a picture, showing the “Coupon Code”

field on our checkout page. I used a different model number, only because I wanted

to show you that the field is available for all items. However if one decides

to use the MOTO7 for items that are

not included in the current promotion, one will receive an error message: “ The

coupon code “MOTO7” is not valid”.

The customer did not receive this error message, simply because he entered the

promo code in the “order comments”, but not in the especially designed field

for it.

3. Price Match - We clearly

stated on our website that we will match any price. (We can only match total amount, including the competitors’ shipping

cost). The only thing the customer has to do is to fill out this form: [redacted] - there is a link to it in the description of

every single product we’ve listed on Batterysharks.com.

Unfortunately the customer did not send us the required information and did not

fill out the form. We were not informed that he had found the product cheaper

and as a consequence the price remained the same.

4. The picture – The picture

used for PS-12140 shows a gray battery with a black top. It even has the

Batterysharks.com watermark on it and it is not showing an original Power-Sonic

item – which, for a matter of fact, is with blue top. This is the reason why I

disagree with the fact that the picture confused the customer. We have followed

Revdex.com regulations and used the word “Replacement” after the model of the

batteries to avoid situations like this one. The link under the battery’s

picture is related to the different type of battery terminals we have. Please

take a look at the link in question here:

5. Description – The first

sentence of the product’s description is giving our customers information about

the compatibility between the OEM battery and the replacement model. There is

no need for the customers to read the whole description – but we strongly recommend our

customers to do so, just to avoid any inconvenient situations. This is why I disagree with the fact

that the description confused the customer.

Lastly, I would like to

kindly ask the customer to give us the model number of his scooter and the

model number of the current batteries, so we can dig deeper and see if there is

a better battery replacement that we could offer.

The last thing that I would

like to mention is that Batterysharks.com

strives for perfection and we are doing our best to serve the needs of all

customers in the best way possible. This is why we will honor the 7% discount and

credit the customer.

I am looking forward to

hearing from you.

Best Regards,

Consumer

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and since my battery was delivered directly to the shop that is repairing my scooter and it is quite a distance from me and is too much hassle to deal with further now, I do wish to accept the business' offer to refund me 7% of the purchase price (this has not happened yet, but if they do this I am willing to accept).

Review: I ordered a battery online. After checking the tracking info it said, "your item was undeliverable as addressed". The horrible customer service rep that did not help me at all said that I have to figure out where it is. The the computer automatically prints out shipping labels and it can't be wrong. Like a computer mistake never happens? Right! Then when I asked to speak with a [redacted] he said she was on the other line. I said I will hold for them. He said no, that here is nothing they can do.

I called the post office and they don't have anything.Desired Settlement: I want my product delivered as ordered! I paid for it and for shipping!

Review: I ordered 4 replacement batteries for a UPS backup. These were item number HR1234W Version UPS 12-9 12V 9AH. The batteries are the correct size and model but all four are dead, and will not take a charge even after 24 hours in the recharging power supply. I requested replacement batteries, and requested that they first test the batteries before sending them. I was told that I must take a picture of the batteries (how can anyone tell if a batter is dead by a picture?) AND that I must go out and purchase a voltage meter, test the batteries for voltage even though the battery backup unit itself says they are dead and will not hold a charge. I then have to take a picture of the voltage meter reading, then send the pictures to the company before they will issue a return. Even if they do return the product, it is likely that the new onces may be bad and we will do this all over again. Bad faith, and extremely difficult to make a return. This is a scam business.Desired Settlement: At this point I want a refund and if they want the batteries back I will gladly send them back if they send a return UPS at no cost to me.

Business

Response:

Thank very much for this feedback.

Most of the time when people contact us about a bad battery for emergency lighting unit, UPS unit, or other device, there is an issue with the built in charger in the particular unit. In other words, if the charger is not properly functioning, the battery does not take full charge and could be faulting the sensor. This is why we are asking our customers to charge the batteries, test them with voltage meter, and send us pictures with the results. This is the easiest way for us to determine if there is a issue with the items.

Our customers can always send us the batteries, we will test them, and leave them aside for day or two, to see how they will discharge. If the units then show bad readings, we will send replacements at no cost.

We strive for perfection and doing our best to serve our customers' needs.

In this particular situation, Mr[redacted] refused to cooperate, and he did not comply with our Warranty policy, which can be found here:

http://www.batterysharks.com//Articles.asp?ID=263

To compensate him we can offer a $25 refund, since we are always happy to help and assist our customers.

We are sorry for this unpleasant experience.

Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at any time.

Review: Warranty not honored for a failed item. A motorsports battery (Item # 221719749140) was purchased on April **, 2015 [redacted] transaction ID [redacted]. The battery then failed within warranty period. When it failed, the company requested info ("Eve"), I provided it, and no warranty replacement was sent. This battery was actually even newer than the order date because it was a replacement (handled by "Mary"); the first I received was dead on arrival, bulged with gaps in the casing, and leaking acid or chemicals.Desired Settlement: Timely replacement or refund of original price + shipping.

Business

Response:

[redacted],Thank you for contacting us.I am sorry that the replacement battery we sent you failed to perform properly. I see that the last correspondence between us is from August last year and one of our representatives asked for voltage readings + date code on the failed battery but we didn't receive a subsequent email from you with the results. We will honor a warranty replacement or credit you back on your order but please provide us with visual evidence that the battery is not working. We need a picture of the voltage reading on the battery + its 6 digit code stamped within the top black layer. If you do not have a volt meter, you can take the battery to Advanced Auto Parts/ Autozone where they will test it for you. Please email us the results and we will be able to proceed further the warranty claim.Thank you for your understanding.Best Regards,[redacted]

Sincerely,

Dylan,It arrived and looks okay. Thanks for the help. If this one fails prematurely, I will probably give up on the brand and let you guys know because I suspect there's a problem with your supplier. Also, the inner boxes do have the side labeled "this side up" on their sides. Maybe this only applies to standard, non-sealed lead-acide batteries rather than these sealed, maint-free AGM units, but I thought I'd pass that along so it can be checked. Have a good holiday weekend.
