They don't know what they are doing other than multiply your initial problem and collect $.
Batzner don't know what they are doing other than multiply your initial problem, so that it appears that you cannot make it without them. Continuous payments is the only thing they are good at. It is just a game in exchange for money when it comes to Batzner. If Batzner was any good, you would not have needed them for so many years because all of their talk would have manifested in less pests rather than more or more infected areas. Batzner play games in order for you to use their dogs to do the inspection. They don't know how to do an inspection and therefore, they just talk a good talk to people while they are deceived while bed bugs walk around contaminating everything you have by tripling in amount of them (laying 3 or more new eggs each day). Batzner is intentionally deceptive when it comes to apartment buildings because they know the bed bugs come in through the wall baseboards, but they use jargon telling you that they follow tracks and come from one apartment to another. Well, Batzner had been treating the apartment next to me for over 7 years straight before they also come into my apartment. If they knew what they were doing then the bed bugs would not have gotten into my apartment in the first place. They are deceptive to get extra money for treating new apartments regardless to ruining their expensive furniture. They just talk a good talk to stupid landlords who continue to pay them to let them spread. 7 years ago, only a few apartments had them and now more than half of all of the apartments in the entire building have bed bugs so that they continue to get paid, paid and paid for doing nothing. Landlords are stupid also to keep using them even though they are not effective. There should be less apartments with bedbugs rather than more since they first started. It is simple from where I sat. They are NOT effective with bed bugs at all.

Have been using Batzner for about 5 years since first finding signs of mice. Batzner quickly located and addressed entry points and set up bait stations accordingly. After two weeks or so we saw no other signs and have been rodent free since. One added bonus of remaining on their monthly plan is that all our other problems have also gone away (wasp/hornet nests outside and spiders, centipedes, ants, etc. inside). The initial charge and recurring monthly plan seemed painful the first time we called, but at this point it would be tough to go back to the alternative. Batzner clearly explained the two options available, a higher priced one time service with no warranty or their lower priced service with an on-going service plan and warranty. The crew members who come out each quarter are always very friendly, knowledgeable, and take the time to explain everything thoroughly.

Review: I have recently used Batzner Pest Management in order to deal with my bed bugs. I paid $600 for 3 treatments of chemicals that would take 3 weeks to do. They sent a representative to my house and he started the treatments. After the 3rd treatment he said my apartment would be cleared. On the documentation of each visit, he said he only saw live bed bugs on the first treatment. So on the second and third week of treatment he claims there was no live bed bug activity. After the third treatment I went in to clean my apartment and all I had to do was lift back the couch cushion and I saw two bed bugs go running. I am furious that the trained professional came in and in the last 2 weeks did not see any live bed bug activity. How is it that he see's none for 2 weeks and then I go in and just lift back a cushion and see two go running. When I called the company right after they didn't seem too concerned they said wait a month and contact us again. After a month though the infestation would just be back to where it was. When I wrote a complaint I heard no response to my email. I believe the guy came in and took my money and then either did a just quick spray over or didn't even do a service, because there is no way he saw no live bed bug activity. I was in there for 10 minutes and saw them. I am completely disatisfied and angered. I have since had to throw away all my furniture and I also have not been able to live in my apartment for over a month. I believe I got scammed out of my money and time.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund of my money due to the disatisfied service that they provided.

In response to complaint# [redacted], On 10/21/13, Our [redacted] contacted Ms. [redacted] to address her concerns and work towards a resolution. Per the customer’s request, it was decided that we

would bring one of our bed bug detection canine teams through the residence to check for any further bed bug activity. For the safety of the dogs, the inspection was scheduled for November 4th to allow for a 30-day window after the last treatment was applied. The situation will be reevaluated after the canine inspection to determine if any further action is required. Both Batzner and Ms. [redacted] are agreeable to working together to come to a satisfactory resolution to ensure the customer is happy with the service she received. Our Director of Service provided his direct contact information to Ms. [redacted] for any questions or concerns she has from now until the canine inspection and beyond.

Sincerely,

When I became a customer of theirs 14 years ago, I signed on for the yearly treatment package because I was told that I could keep the $380/yr. rate for as long as I stayed with them, provided I had no break in service. This year, I got a bill for $396 (received exactly one week before the due date). When I called to inquire as to why, I was told the price had gone up; they didn't know who told me my rate would stay the same; I had paid the $396 last year and they sent out a notice that I must not have received. Well, I wouldn't expect that they'd know who told me 14 years ago that my rate would stay the same if each year I renewed with them; if I did pay the increased rate last year, it's news to me (I always pay bills on time and in full so it's possible it slipped through); no I didn't receive any notice of increase, as I would've called them immediately to dispute it. I, of course, cancelled their services. Customer service and integrity is important to me.

Review: The problem began with the first dealings that I had with the company. My wife and I were told that they would be here at certain time and that worked since she had a doctors appointment later that day. When the company did not arrive, we were then told that no that was the start of a two hour period in which they could arrive. I then requested that we cancel / move the appointment. The person at the office refused to change the appointment. My wife ended up missing her appointment and it cost us 25.00. When the person did arrive, my wife had questions on the contract that we had to sign before they would come out. He said quote "oh don't worry about that". He could only find one type of bug in our residence and stated a supervisor would come next time. One of the major questions we had was about using spray that was pet friendly. We were told at that time, the spray was pet friendly and we did not need to leave the home. Later when the person called from the company, we were told we needed to vacate and take our animals as well. This for me is not an easy task. My wife is handicapped and the animals are quite old. I cancelled the appointment and did not set another one - I had medical situations with her and another family member to deal with. I called the company to discuss my issues and was told "you signed a contract - and the person did not wish to discuss or resolve any of my complaints.Desired Settlement: Ever since the beginning of our transactions with this company have been a series of saying one thing at one time and changing it the following time. I would like a refund for all the money paid into this company and a cancellation of the contract.

Response:

We contacted the customer to address his concerns and they have been satisfactorily resolved with the following actions: 1) On our first visit to the customer’s home, there was a miscommunication of the appointment time. Unfortunately we arrived at the end of the service arrival window but was able to complete the majority of the service before the customer needed to leave for a personal appointment. To provide the service level that we promised our customer we attempted to schedule a follow-up service for the customer. At that time the customer did not want that service. 2) As a company we pride ourselves on complete customer satisfaction. The customer was not completely satisfied with our service so we are providing a complete refund of the money he paid the company. 3) The customer had on ongoing "Healthy Homes" pest protection plan that provided continuous pest protection for his family and home, that agreement was cancelled at his request. 4) We also offered one additional visit at no-cost to the customer which he declined. On May 10, 2016 the customer thanked us for refunding his money, cancelling his service agreement and the offer to provide an additional service. As an organization with over 70 years of customer satisfaction we pride ourselves on treating all our customers like family and are happy that we resolved his concerns.

For an exorbitant price, this company promises to find any pest problem and eliminate it. I specifically told them that we didn't want them to use any poison because we have a dog (our cat died from another unfortunate incident with poison). But they went ahead anyway and used a poison. a mouse that had entered through a vent into our basement bathroom walls died there. The guy said he couldn't find the mouse, said the odor was due to sewer gas! He just left a bunch of poison traps around, and sure enough the mouse died inside our walls. This company charges $150 to leave poison around, then charges each month $33 for a whole year!!! That is an outrageous price just to drop off poison. Now we are stuck with a dead mouse smell in the basement, we don't know where it is, and they said they don't know how it got in. This is a scam. They shouldn't have charged us at all, and they surely shouldn't have used the poison when we told them not to. They also put insect traps around, even though we never told them we had an insect problem. They are pushy sales people on the phone, and just want to take your money, which ends up costing you almost $450 in a year. For what??? Are they going to ever remove the dead mouse??? And then they had to be told where we thought the mouse came in! What kind of "experts" are they??

I cancelled services and continue to get phone calls for service after many times of letting them know thru phone calls (from them) and emails. Very disappointed and dissatisfied!
