This is the position of Bauer & Son Moving with
regards to complaint #*** filed by *** *** for a moving job on 8/17/15. The driver turned in the paperwork to the
office the next morning on 8/18/15. I
noticed a clerical error on the paperwork right away. The
column figures were correct, but when totaled
up it was written as $instead of the correct amount of $477.50.
The customer was advised immediately by phone that the total
was $short. I noted that the driver did
the paperwork in the cab of the truck at night which was most likely the cause
to the clerical error. The customer acknowledged
that the column figures were correct but when added up, it was $short. It was the customer’s belief that the error
released him from his financial obligationI advised him again that it was
clearly a clerical error and does not release his financial obligation.
Here is the breakdown of the charges (a copy of the bill
is also attached):
$= work hours @ $per hour
$= travel time hours @ $per hour
$service charge
$= total amount
NOTE: This job was
estimated at hours ($455) and actually performed in hours ($477.50)
As stated above, it is our position that this was clearly
a clerical error and it does not release the customer of their financial
responsibility. The same goes, if the
error was not in his favor, it would not release Bauer from their financial
responsibility to return the money.
We offered a settlement of $($credit off the
total charges). This offer was for the
inconvenience factor of the day and not for the clerical error. This offer brought the cost down to the
hour estimated cost ($X 5) minus the service charge. We feel this was a fair settlement offer and
it was rejected by the customer.
Therefore, the full charge of $was applied to their authorized credit
card on file

In response to Bauer & Son's message, I have fulfilled my obligations as a paying customer "in full" and would like to resolve this concern via help from the Revdex.com. My issue is that I was offered the following  Date/Time and a payment, on a signed work order by the company that they have decided to alter without my permission. The company agent came into my apartment after the move was completed and went over the work order in the dining room where we both signed the document for $407.50. If the agent made a mistake on the calculations this problem should be taken up with the employee by Bauer & Son Management. I would like the company to make good on the signed work order by the agent and myself and issue the inconvenience credit that was offered to me for ($27.50) and taken away if I didn't comply with the altered work order agreement.  Dealing with this company has been less that satisfactory causing me to drive several loads to my new residents costing me more money and gas in my car and my daughters car also, making me wait nine hours for their arrival when I was originally told the movers would arrive on the 17th between 8:30- 9:00 am, actual arrival was 6;00 pm. Enclosed is a copy of the signed work order. Thank you for your help in this matter! Please let me know if your unable to open this attachment. [redacted]
