I have contacted this patient by phone and left a voicemail to explain that there must have been a miscommunication about whether the visit she attended was a free screening or a full evaluation We completed a full evaluation, provided recommendations and goals, and the therapist wrote a
multiple page report We billed this service to her insurance for $(not thousands of dollars as noted in the complaint) I can provide evidence of this bill if needed The patient was billed for $(the patient portion due as indicated by the insurance company) As a courtesy, I am happy to waive the $due to the miscommunication and I sincerely apologize for the misunderstanding I also provided my personal cell phone number so that she could contact me directly if she should receive another bill and/or to provide any additional feedback as this should have been quickly resolved with our billing office I asked her to let me know if she contacted our office previously because we were certainly want to know if she thought she was treated unfairly We value and respect our patients and we are extremely committed to ethical and accurate billing practices If you should have additional questions or would like further documentation or explanation, I am happy to provide whatever you need to resolve this issue.
