Response to claim ID # [redacted] Customer had brought car in for convertable top repair on Sept ( months prior ) and was quoted approximately $for replacement of a motor drive unit for the cover the top fits under when it is downThe $ paid was to partially disassemble interior and remove any other items for original estimateShe now brought the car back now months later stating she had already had an estimate and told us she was not paying for another estimate and told us it was to cost the original estimate amountSince then the original estimate drive motor has gone up in priceI decided to rediagnose top operation and found additional problem with front top lock drives that cost $each for each side had broken plastic and would need to be replacedI explained it would do no good to replace only the original drive as found just to have it not operate properlyAt this point she she became angry and started accusing me of dishonesty and she demanded her first diagnosis fee back from months priorShe said she was on her way to pick up the car immediately and came so fast we were not finished putting her interior back together againWhen she was waiting she was beligerant and using words that are not heard on the public airwaves in front of other customers and continued to insult me while I was trying to explain the problem with her car topShe didn't want to hear any explanation as she was upset that her car was to cost more than the original estimate and was going to unload on me and my businessWe do not charge for cost quotes that require not touching the car such as oil change, brakes, water pump etcWe do charge for diagnosis such as convertable top or items that require hands or time Thanks for listeningAndrewBavarian Motors Ltd###-###-####

Since then the original estimate drive motor has gone up in price. I decided to rediagnose top operation and found additional problem with front top lock drives that cost $593.25 each 1 for each side had broken plastic and would need to be replaced.
