Today I have been forwarded a document requesting payment of an alleged debt to Center for Education and Employment Law (aka Progressive Business Publications). I called CEEL and they claim that an employee gave them verbal authorization to preview some materials. They also claim that they have been invoicing for those "free" materials since January. However, no materials are in existence at that location and no invoices have been received. This is the first correspondence received on this matter. We had the same thing happen last year at another one of our schools at which time CEEL agreed to zero out our account and make notes not to contact our school district with future solicitations. I am aware that CEEL had 953 complaints with the Revdex.com at the time of our last issue with them. When I contacted them today, the person who answered refused to zero the account, was rude, and wants us to return a book we never received. This company runs a scam, pure and simple. Our school district does all purchasing or procuring of product/materials through the use of purchase orders that must be approved through the business office. The person CEEL claims to have contacted is not an authorized purchasing agent for our district. No product has been located. I would like this account closed out and I would like to be removed from any solicitation by CEEL.
