I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me
Sincerely,
*** *** I have no wish to pay more for these holly plants. One overwatering should not have killed them. Also, if they were so delicate, we should have been informed. Regarding the red barberry, I still see no reason why we were not given the lovely plants in the shop instead of the tiny sick looking ones. It just seems like a bait and switch to me. I will contact Baxter Gardens should the barberry not come up as stated. I will indeed pass along this incident to others
The customer originally called about the ninebark shrubsThey did not have purple leavesWe explained to her that when it gets really hot sometimes that happens due to the temperature of the soil in the containersWe informed the customer that it would turn purple again when it gets new growth
and is in the ground for a whileWe went by and checked the plantIt was indeed leaningWe pulled away the rock around the plant and straightened / re-set the plant in the soilWe then pulled the rock back around the base of the shrubAt this point, the customer still wasn't happy so we replaced it the following day.The customer called us when she got back in town and said that the hollys were deadWe went out to check them and they were sitting in soupy mud due to over wateringBefore watering every other day, the customer should be checking the soil to be sure that the soil is drying out in between wateringThe same remaining shrubs at the nursery are healthyThere was nothing wrong with the hollys we plantedOur warranty states we don't guarantee plants due to over watering or under watering. At this point, we would be willing to split the cost 50/with the customer to replace the drowned hollys. We do plant shrubs a little high due to the clay soil we have in this areaPlants do go into a bit of a shock when installedThis is normalThe barberry should come out great in the SpringIf they die, we will replace them at 100% warranty if properly maintained
